Maybe. I guess time will tell if they’re as reliable as the old 5.7, which was a great engine except for its poor fuel economy compared to domestic V8s.

Why isn't it Friday yet? Been in a rut at work. Sick of working on the Tacoma. Need 2 wheel therapy.

I've been out a decade, it gets worse with time. It's literally a piece of paper that makes people think you're kinda smart. I'm not complaining about my situation but I certainly view the whole system as a joke. Not to mention, the job I have now, they didn't even check that I had a degree...

Anyway they do always say to avoid the first few model years of any new redesign. There’s always bugs to work out, no matter the brand.

I had an encouraging second interview with a local insurance company for an inside sales/comm support specialist role that’d buy 45k base plus any commission and bonuses. It almost went too well, since now I might have to make a tough decision - do I want the flexibility and chillness of the cafe, or the stability and higher ceiling of the insurance place? I’m also waiting to hear back about multiple other places, so idk if I’d wanna jump on this rn.

    Wait so you're comparing a modified 6.7 to a bone stock 7.3?

Well I got news for you pal, it may shock you to find out that a rock crawling buggy is more capable than a stock Tacoma.
    Hang in there buddy.

Any benefits with the insurance gig, discount insurance or medical or whatever. My current job pays modestly but the health insurance and retirement stuff is STRONG.

No just with emissions deleted to the same point of a 7.3 with 90s era emissions.

The only benefits are 2 weeks of PTO. It’s a small office, so they haven’t figured out a health plan yet. I could probably get an underwritten plan since I’m young and very rarely go to the doctor.

One thing I liked about this place was that they didn’t promise me the world and say I was gonna be a millionaire partying in Cabo within a few years like other places, which seemed more like MLM schemes.

I did that last week. Took Friday off to go ride because it was almost 60° out. I looked at my hours this year so far and between days off and holidays I think I’ve only worked one full week all year so far :anonymous:

Still leaks the oil a 7.3 does commonly unfortunately. For sure a good motor as long as its maintained. Which is arguable with most vehicles. Good thing im not a shop.

Not necessarily. Easier? Yes. Necessary? No. Depends on how many curse words you wanna throw around as well as equipment accessibility

Entirely. Student loans are killin me, especially in this most recent economy...with a mortgage...

I'd jump if they offer. Resume builder if anything.

Probably just a difference in field but I haven't had any job that's promised me more than they can deliver. That seems like it would be more for the programming types really.
