yaaaaa same lol

 

I'm more than a little off. This whole day has seemed like a dream so far, slept like shit

 

i started a new sleep med this week and it's working in that I'm sleeping through the night more but im also extra fuckin drowsy til the afternoon comes around lol

Oof sorry, I haven't ever been on sleep meds but they sound like they have some interesting side effects. My boss frequently does scary shit on ambien

 

I mean I kept thinking it was Friday; not working anymore throws you off on your days

Only matters cause we've made a conscious effort to visit my mom often now on weekends so she can see Theo

Being her first grandkid and all, it's a big deal for her

 

Lower dosage available?

 

i absolutely loathe taking Ambien, I only take it a few times a year when im stuck in a flashback state and don't sleep for a few days in a row lol.

i just started prazosin which limits or stops nightmares and flashbacks / night terrors and it seems to be doing well in that regard

But no really, I think it's all about introduction to a variety early on and addressing any sensory issues as they arise. The sensory thing is real big esp with kids and I don't think that was very well understood when we were growing up

I always hated how freaking spinach was so I stayed away from it forever

I read something about a new food item being on a child's plate at least "7 times"..some psychological thing where they initially write it off when they first see it, but become curious and drawn to it after 7 different instances (or less)

 

yeah the one thing I remember learning with Sofia was that it's helpful to put several options out for them to at least get familiar with, even if they don't eat it. Let them touch, smell, whatever it takes to familiarize. That goes COMPLETELY against how I was raised with food lol. But I see how it can really pay off in the long run especially with pickier eaters.

 

Yep! That's the idea.

At first, it's seen as foreign

Later they become more curious and might even play with it

Seeing it again they'll be inclined to taste/eat it and you've now made them eat something without forcing it on them

 

I remember missing the Simpsons and stuff cause I wasn't allowed to leave the dinner table
