I've been pulled over more times than I care to mention, but most of the time I've gotten a warning, and I fight it when I get a ticket that would result in points on my license; I have always gotten a reduced charge and have never gotten points or a license suspension. I always wear my seatbelt and make any passenger in my truck wear theirs; I don't drive drunk and certainly don't do the stupid shit I did when I was younger.

One of the things that really grinds my gears is when police use unmarked vehicles that look absolutely nothing like police vehicles to sneak up on unsuspecting motorists.

I'm not even talking about the rank-and-file unmarked Dodges and Fords that you can still easily tell are cop cars because they have push bars and unique steel wheels. I live in Warrington Township, and they have two Chargers that look like ordinary Chargers. One is green, one is burgundy, and both have low-profile custom wheels that would not look out of place on some hoonigan's car. Neither of them have the push bars, and the emergency lights aren't visible until they come on.

Last August, my girlfriend and I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie at 9:35pm. We went later than we normally would have because I had been helping her study for a test to become a phlebotomist. It was after midnight when the movie got out, and she was still living in Ambler, so it was about 1am by the time I got to Warrington.

I was on Folly Road, and this car appears out of nowhere quite a good distance behind me; I thought that it could be a cop, but paid it no mind at first because I wasn't doing anything wrong. I stopped at a red light at the intersection of Folly Road and Street Road, which from that direction is no turn on red. The mystery vehicle ended up right behind me, and I could tell by the headlights that it was a Dodge Charger; I didn't think it was a cop.

I flipped on my signal and turned right when the light turned green. By this time, the Charger was riding my ass, and I wasn't too happy about this, so I floored it less than a mile from my house. The red and blue lights came on less than a mile from my house, and I was absolutely dumbfounded as to what I'd done wrong. The cop came to my window and I asked what I'd done wrong because I legit did not know. He told me I'd been "speeding and swerving", but after running my information let me go with a warning. He never told me how fast I'd been going, and because of that incident I no longer like to drive after 10pm, even in Warrington where I've lived for almost 8 years; I seriously thought it was some prick in a Charger who was tailgating me.
There wasn't a safe place to pull over and let him by initially, and if I hadn't been in a good mood, I might have opened the rear slider and given him the one-finger salute.

On the Warrington community Facebook page, residents have reported similar incidents with the two unmarked police cars where they hide in plain sight and wait for motorist to commit petty violations.

The response to the installation of a NO TURN ON RED sign at the intersection of Street Road and route 611 has also been met with a less than kind response, as has the recent implementation of red light cameras.

Just remember we keep the needles from washing up on your border, without the great state of new Germany you’d have to pay taxes for beach upkeep and wouldn’t have the opportunity of a sister state to crack a joke about.

Another thing I always hated about New Jersey was that they charged for access to the beach, and one time back in 2006 it was very hit or miss. My mom's side of the family rented a house right on the beach in Holgate, on Long Beach Island for a week in June 2006. This wasn't cheap, obviously, and nobody knew that beach access wasn't free; I say it was "hit or miss" because they didn't have somebody collecting money at the entrance to the beach. We were way down at the end of end of the beach, where it was still technically public but mostly behind houses. Imagine my shock when some seemingly random woman shows up while my family is on the beach behind the house that we paid a fortune to rent, and hits us up for money to buy "beach badges". Obviously, almost nobody had thought to bring their wallets down to the beach, and certainly not any cash, so my parents and a few aunts and uncles had to drop what they were doing, and rush back up to the house to get money so they could pay the beach nazis. I remember my cousin being particularly disgusted when a woman who had her kids on the beach didn't want to take her kids back up to their house to get money and certainly wasn't about to leave her kids on the beach, and she got no sympathy from the beach nazis.

In 2012, we rented a house in Cape May a couple blocks from the beach directly behind Congress Hall. The beach at Cape May is also not free and routinely patrolled by beach nazis, so we made a point of buying enough beach badges to avoid a repeat of what had happened six years earlier.

The same cousin who expressed disgust at the incident with Beach Nazis' treatment of the mother and her kids back in 2006 was now a mother of two herself, with a daughter who just under 3 and a son who wasn't even a year; I believe they were exempt from having to get beach badges due to age.

During our week in Cape May, I accidentally discovered that staying out in the ocean when the beach nazis came around to check badges was a foolproof way to avoid contact with them; I always had a badge with me, but I generally kept it back where we'd set up camp for the day and didn't feel like dropping what I was doing just to prove to these bureaucrats that I wasn't illegally using the beach... :luvya:

sure I get what you’re saying but the moment any government realizes they can tax a citizen (of that state or an out of stater) with no recourse, that tax will continue to rise and be governed to the highest extent possible. You can’t blame just New Jersey but the system in general. It’s much like paying a tax for a road that has potholes, look at the shit roads over in your state. The money is supposed to improve and keep up with the maintenance but usually just lines some crooked politicians pockets and the little man remains screwed. They’re “short on maintenance budget” And then due to mismanagement of the money they up the tolls for increased taxes but no improved maintenance. It’s a cyclic delusion that only an insane person would assume has a viable outcome

I haven't been pulled over in 17 years. And the last time I was pulled not me technically I got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. And I was the passenger. Smh and my ex was pulled over in a parking lot no less. Cop was just being a dick. That seems normal these days cops being dicks. Luckily for me I know pretty much all the local cops and I'm cool with most of them. I just know when I'm not in a town I don't know much about I do everything in my power to not drive like a asshat.
