    ***STATUS UPDATE***
    All,
    I met with the manufacturer this afternoon to review the production plans. Their mold maker (this wrinkled german dude that's like 100 yrs old!) had some concerns about the appearance of the insert on the back side...I had to re-explain the purpose and what parts of the insert were manditory and what parts could be altered.
    Long story short, the mold is now in production and I have an appointment to review and approve the initial product on 4/15. If it is to my satisfaction they will begin production and I'll have the first run able to ship by about 4/26.
    I wish I could be more precise with the timing of this folks, but the truth is if this piece is not up to par with what I want it to be I'm not going to sell it to anyone!
    My main priority is to make something unique that I would install on MY TRUCK.
    If it is not good for me, it certainly is not good enough for my fellow TW members.
    That being said, I feel very confident with the abilities of this shop to produce the insert and I will update the OP to reflect how I plan on fulfilling the orders later this evening as well as posting the payment terms.
    There are still about a dozen or so folks left that need to PM their shipping info. If you are one of them, please do so.
    If you want to change your selection PLEASE include your # on the list in your PM - it makes it soooo much easier to make the changes.
    List updates & more info on the bumper piece to be posted this evening. (yes, after the kids are in bed!) :rolleyes: :D

    I was looking at my grill today. It looks like, when they put the chrome outer part on the insert, there are some tabs that go through holes and then those tabs are melted so that the chrome outer part stays in place. Once we remove the outer chrome part (or whatever color yours might be), the tabs will then be missing because they were melted previously. How will we get the outer part to attach to the insert your creating?

    I'll be posting an installation guide with pics & video.
    I have taken them apart and reassembled them a few times now & when you separate the two pieces properly you don't kill the tabs and it is easy to reassemble.

    Still making up my mind on the mesh. It looks like the #1 mesh is the most popular at this time. I kind of like the #3 mesh but I don't want the openings to be big. I like the pattern almost like the grill craft grill. I would really like to see all the different mesh patterens installed before I make a decision (if thats ok)

    I went insert only because I couldn't decide either. I got some samples on the way from www.customcargrills.com. They offer some patterns powder coated in black if that is something that might sway you. Another source I've seen around TW is http://www.mcnichols.com/. The latter site has a ton of options.

    Not trying to take business away for HomerTaco, I've just been where you are and thought I'd throw my two cents in.
