It’s nice not having to scroll past every other post complaining how the 4th gen Tacoma will never be a diesel Duramax Escalade, long bed F150, horse and buggy, etc.

The 4G Tacoma is much more like a current F-150 than any previous generation. The material behind the rear seats looks like the same material found behind the seats on a Ford.

Yes, it's 2024. I escaped the gulag myself although, I could be thrown back in at a moments notice.

The different style of conversations we see here is very likely due to the 1st,2nd,3rd, and 4th gen forums all being tied together. On Tacoma4G you only make an account there if you're directly interested in the 4th gen, whereas here anybody can just swing over from another gen to the 4th gen boards and contribute their opinions. And I prefer it this way. Sure, some guys just like to stir drama, but I do like seeing actual comparisons and constructive criticisms from all gen taco owners.

And honestly, TW threads have a bit more personality in my opinion.

That other site is a navigational nightmare and hurts my eyes. Might be the font. Dunno, not a graphic design person, but it just hurts.

Why are you here if the 4G forum is so great?

How boring would it be if everyone had the same opinion? It’s also weird how people new to this site come here and try to change it. Many of us have been here for 10 or more years. There must be something we like about it for us to stick around this long.

I wonder if anyone has lined up 3rd gen sliders to a 4th gen to see what needs to be done for them to fit or if it’s even possible with some ingenuity. I like my RRW sliders

I think it's more about non opinion threads being turned into opinion threads.

Great example is the MPG thread. People posting and looking for actual numbers and it turns into opinions about 4g not being good enough compared to 3g.

What the hell is a non opinion thread? This isn’t North Korea…or is it?…

Facts are not opinions. And you do not know for a fact that this site isn't hosted out of or run by North Korea

Tacoma4G is a fan club. A very good one. I appreciate their scoops, but that’s about it. Critical thought and open disagreement is just more satisfying in the long run. Fun to watch opinions evolve.

Most owners here know what they’re talking about, as evidenced by some very specific upgrades Toyota made to the new truck. You’ll see items debated here today magically get fixed in the refresh. Or earlier. Toyota reps don’t read minds, but they do tend to follow the complaints. And the money.

Fan club is a good way of describing it over there. I do check in every now and then, but I agree with your stance on critical thought and open disagreement.

I believe the TRD Sport guys call them, "skewps" ;)
