About to do this repair with the 3m NVH foam and dual tube caulk gun. I watched lot of vids on this posted by 3m and body guys on youtube. Toyota and most others use the foam because it's not as solid like a caulk or adhesive and won't expand or contract with large temperature fluctuations. Also won't melt under very high heat. They state that caulk or adhesives will likely warp the panels under certain climates over time. The con of using the 3m foam is the cost and it's a bit tougher to work with than standard single tube stuff. It's cures pretty quickly and can be messy. I'm going to mask off the areas it's being applied, cover the engine and apply in well ventilated area. The foam also has a limited shelf life so need to test the new tube prior to applying it. We'll see how it goes.

Have this problem and was posting on another post about this. They sent me here. My newly purchased 2013 Tacoma does this flutter a lot, especially when I pass a semi on the road. It jumps pretty good. I was thinking the damn hood wasn't latched or something. scared the shit out of me. I think the GE Silicone should do the trick. Should have good enough flex to handle the temperature changes...Maybe Big Stretch would be better...huh..??

Not sure about those products. I used the "official" stuff in my post above, #81. I worked perfectly but costs more. Some materials not specifically designed for this could potentially melt or break off. I didn't want to deal with that above my new engine.

Just found the spots on my hood that have separated, ordered the 3M dampening material like others have used.
