I agree with that line of thinking. When looking at vehicles of this vintage, high miles can actually be a benefit since you know it's actually been driven, and they would've had to do at least decent maintenance to get it that far. Anyone can park a truck in a garage for a decade.

I'm house sitting my folks place right now and my dad gets some fun warranty offer mail for is 2019 4R. His original dealer has sent letters offering to buy his back as well, for decent prices....except the same exact truck now costs $10K more new.

    Due dilligence my friend!

Read up, learn, and fall back on your experience to conduct your own walk-through of said vehicle

If you're unsure of something, look it up, or ask someone that might know

No harm in bringing someone along with you either

It's better than just blindly buying a vehicle only to complain about it later

They just look boring to me, and the interiors are pretty bland.

Idk if they're that much more work than a 1st gen Tacoma really. They all seem to have pretty similar needs a this age. I'm not sure why people make such a big hullaballo about ownership costs on older Cruisers - try owning an old Bentley or Jag!

It’s actually not too horrible. I’ve done it with rpm files before, and it’ll make lots of stuff easier if I get it right

Haha I wasn't saying for me specifically, just in general a lot of people seem to like that combo.

There's nothing wrong with them, they just don't really spark much inside of me. I actually like the look of GX470s a lot more, even though they're basically the same vehicle.

Lol I know, I'm just afraid the, "some," you might be thinking of will in fact not take that wisdom to heart.

I don't think I'm gonna move forward with any of the vehicles I saw today, that's for sure.
