So they are somewhat difficult to repair. We havent seen anything major yet, but there's not much to the system.

We have a inverter problem with the new tundra and its a bit of a pain to change but nothing crazy. The hybrid MG motor is sandwiched between the engine and trans, we don't expect any issues with it. Then battery is under rear seat. Again rare issues.

Big thing is keeping clean air to the HV battery under the seat. Then ensuring the HV coolant is kept level properly. There is also Intercooler/turbo coolant along with separate engine coolant. So 3 reservoirs.

Actually yea, we're gonna need to make a sticky to explain where the HV battery cooling system inlet is and how to clean it.

Especially dust. Thats a truck thing.

We don't see issues with normal hybrids, but cabs and ubers that have 500,000kms actually need the vents and ducts to be cleaned.

I looked over an SR5 this AM parked in front of a dealer. The new proportions give it a bulldog look, versus Gen3, more cheetah. Very refreshing to see a brand new cab after looking at the same basic greenhouse for 20 years.

Inside, first thing I noticed was how high they jacked up the front seat. Not a fan of the new seating position, and the back seat is even more claustrophobic. I would not trade this base interior for mine, but maybe the large screen & softex vinyl seats would be more persuasive.

Really good truck somewhat spoiled by the cost: This particular SR5 2WD with really cheap cloth manual seats stickered at $45k. That’s way too much, even before the dealer added a market adjustment for a grand total of $56k.

$56k for an SR5? GTFO. So by that logic, my 09 with 254k miles should fetch $25k after seller markup.

Yep, it eats into discounted tundra territory. I can get OR Limited Tundra with JBL and all the goodies discounted to $58k right now. Makes zero sense to spend $2-4k less on a new Tacoma at MSRP or more. Reason I think we are seeing them sit right now. Jumped on FB marketplace and there’s plenty just chilling at MSRP.

That’s the look of “you expect me to fit in that little Tacoma? Where’s my Tundra?”

Are the rear seat backs more vertical than the previous gens? It looks like it in photos.

The standard 6-way seat is adjustable for height, did you try lowering it? With the higher front seat, can rear passengers get their feet under the front seat?

Pretty upright. As soon as I opened the back door, immediately bummed about the lack of space.

There’s more headroom, but this one didn’t have a moonroof. What annoyed me is the short rear window, and they tacked on a cheap looking piece of black plastic that blocks visibility. Flashback of sitting in the back of my FJ.

I didn’t. Might’ve made a difference. I’m not short (6’1”) but noticed a more vertical reach from feet to peddles. Not my preference. Weird, b/c I didn’t feel particularly higher up in this truck.
