What’s the paint look like on the bedside corner edges? Your pictures only show the cab damage, no? Is the paint chipped and messed up on the other side too? Also, what do you load on the rack when you wheel and Raptor send it and all the things?

Yeah that is weird. I’ll take a pic of mine when the sun comes up. Something moved somewhere for sure.

    Oh she is....

For anyone following along, all the passenger bed bolts were loose, the front being the worst. About a 1/4" or more of bed flex from the frame when I rocked the front passenger corner of the bed. Check your bed bolts.

It's from the frame flexing/moving. That same type of damage is common when a full frame pickup gets rear ended. The frame flexing will cause the bed bolts to loosen over time as well.

So you think this was the root cause?

I'm sure it contributed to it, I don't think the bed being a little loose is entirely the cause though.

I'm sure playing twister with a loaded bed, loaded rack and loose bed bolts probably all had something to do with it.

Not a lot of margin there so with something amiss that margin evaporates. Sorry you had to find out the hard way the bolts were loose.

Damn…..makes me want to check torque on the bed bolts.

    What are they 55-60?

Of course, thought it was very curious. Never saw that on a taco before, and I've been driving one for nearly 20 years. This one isn't going anywhere anyway, almost paid off and then the real fun will begin :D

I highly doubt that gently sliding into a snowbank twisted my frame...

off roading loosened the bed then flexing, rack, extra weight, all were factors
the frame was flexed or the hitch was bottomed out on

Does anyone else think that a poly bed may be suspect to shrink and swell with temperature changes more than a steel or aluminum body causing the bolts to loosen up? I would also think the poly would deflect more when driving as well.

Not saying that is the cause of the dents the OP is experiencing, but a theory nonetheless.
