    Haha!

She likes it dirty.:) Actually, forgot to mention that there is a PPF film on it. I didn’t like the all chrome in that badge.

It’s an aluminum stump bumper from “Green lane off-road”. I love it, only 45 ponds.

We just got a few inches of wet slushy snow that froze solid overnight. That would surely jam up the shutter system.

TFL had that video like a week ago where the whole grill was basically full of snow/frozen over I wonder if they had any issues afterwards

    From the facebook post:

not update yet, grille shutter had a bad reading and that’s why the check engine light came on. Hopefully they have parts on hand 1f937_1f3fb_200d_2642_91cce730727068b17757ecd89cee187f5b7af388.png

I got the truck back it looks like it’s good now, tbh yesterday my wife drove it and it’s been a while since she drove stick so it stalled a couple times. Probably was that we will see if it comes back on 1f937_1f3fb_200d_2642_91cce730727068b17757ecd89cee187f5b7af388.png

Doubtful. Nothing would be able to stop him from saying he got one. May seem like his wife may have caused it by not knowing how to drive a stick. Other than that I am not sure why you would delete a legit problem.

If this becomes a serious issues in the future. Maybe just take out the grills and leave the actuator behind hooked up the wiring. The actuator moves but the grills are gone. No over heating and no lights on the dash.

Don’t think that would work. It’s going to affect warm up times and the computers gonna look at that as a malfunction and turn on the check engine light. All these components and sensors talk to each other

My understanding is the grill shutters are to direct more air to pass through the intercooler. Remove the shutter functionality may increase engine temperatures. I wouldn't think it would make a significant difference in temperatures.

I think you guys are giving Toyota too much credit here. Almost all active shudders in use today are for aerodynamics to gain fuel economy. It prevents the big grill in front from becoming a parachute at 70mph.

Fine it hard to believe that a slow warmup would trigger a CEL. If that would be the case, the Canadian guys are in trouble come winter time.

And removal would just open up the grill to more flow, and more cooling. Simple thermodynamics. But I guess we will see what's going to happen here soon enough. Someone will fine out either way, good or bad.

All Toyota needed to do was refresh the body and interior and put in an 8 speed transmission. Too many ways the new one can fail
