I went to Bearizona with a friend a few years back. I only had the softtopper and there was traffic. We were stopped in one of the wolf areas and one decided he wanted in the back of the bed to see what was going on. I'm chilling and all sudden my buddy is on the radio, yelling there's a wolf climbing into my truck. HA! The rangers showed up to yell at the wolf to get down. Was funny to me. In the cab, safely.

I forget who told me this but supposedly someone with a Tacoma put some kind of meat or trimmings or something in the bed before going thru. For a while the wolves inspected EVERY 2nd gen taco that came thru, at least a sniff or two.
They are extreeeemely smart. 2nd or 3rd gen taco = treats truck! :D It was probably thinking "god damn these things are getting stingy!":p

Here's me a split second before getting violently tongue kissed by one. She had kickflipped off my friend's back to launch herself over the white/tan one I have my hands on.

    wolf kiss.png
Also you can see my neck is red from getting punched in the throat (a love punch really). It was such a cool experience, I'm so glad I got to do it before the place turned into a tourist trap.

The craziest thing of all was, they'd beat your ass up sniffing you, whacking you with paws, surprise kisses, and all that. But one of them put their mouth completely around my forearm to take me for a walk, and it was the most gentle I had ever felt any canine be. It could have snapped my bones like a damn spaghetti noodle but no, it was gentler than even a puppy trying to put its mouth on you. 100% aware of its own strength.

Sand Dunes becomes no-charge, no-sand-buggies on April 16. That and a mine off-road just south of Yuma (Marins base monitors security so you need to get a permit first). Yuma is not the most interesting city-wise, but far less expensive than PHX so worth a weekend to have sand dunes safe for walking.

Im pretty sure there is a hardware troll in my garage. I have bought countless nuts/bolts/washers for this blazer project that have gone missing. I feel like twice a week Im at the hardware store buying shit Ive already bought. Im about to lose my mind.

One thing I should do, and in reality never will, is get a nut and bolt organizing drawer with the common sizes I'm always reaching for.

Growing up helping my dad (certified gopher and light holder) i was always amazed at how he knew where everything was down to the most random thing. He had built this rotating lazy susan type nut/bolt/washer organizer that was sorted by size and type. Now that I'm older and most of what he told me finally makes sense I'm surprised at how smart the old man has gotten.

That said I have three seperate bags of 1/4 20 carriage bolts for the same project :smack:

I inherited many of these cans full of lots of randomness.... working with my dad growing up I saw the value of this system. Everytime we needed a random bolt, nut, etc etc.... it was "grab the green folgers can on the second shelf, third one back and empty it out on the bench, there should be one in there...." saved many trips to the hardware store.

Is there anyone who can help me with some drawings for a permit? It is in a rural area outside Tucson. No architect /certification needed, just need to be saved as a PDF. I can pay if needed. Thanks

Finally getting around to working on the wife’s bumper. Had the frame plate and basic shape already cut/rough bent but didn’t want to go any further without having a full weekend to work on it since it was time to cut the plastic. Solid progress and looking good I think.

While he was building a bumper. I was applying sound dampening stuff to the truck.
Went well. Noticeable on drive home. Gotta figure something to fill the voids in the C Pillar. Definitely noticeably from there now.
Yea probably over kill. But my first time and the top layer 3n1 foam is easy to install after the butyl stuff.
