Hey y'all. Have the opportunity to upgrade to a 2015 from my 2008, same specs. Dbsb 4.0 4x4 with 30k less miles than my 08, for about 3k more than what i paid for on my 08. Is this something I should jump on or is it not that worth it? The facelift itself seems to be a reason but is there anything major that came with the 2.5 gen upgrade? My 08 doesn't have a backup camera but I can always add that. Any info helps. TIA!

How many miles on 2008. If it is a sound truck, no sence in changing.

If you got the expendable cash buy it. You can always use a second or third vehicle.

Depends on how you're doing your math?
No enough info to make a suggestion.

When in doubt, stick with what work.
If the 08' is "working". You might want to save the cash for things unexpected.

    yeah, this

if you just bought the 08 for $17k and the 15 is $20k, it’s gonna cost you a lot more than $3k by the time you sell the 08

IMO there isn't enough difference to justify the expense. Keep the 2008 a few more years and then look for a used 2024. Assuming they don't have issues. Too soon to know.

What would you be gaining besides 7 model years and potentially less mileage?

You are no doubt familiar with service history of yours. What about the 15?

The cost comparison you present is not a fair representation. The correct approach would be the total purchase cost of the 15, less what amount you can get for yours in trade or selling outright. If trading, then you have solid figures to weigh a verdict. In a private sell, you might have to be a little open minded, not to mention having to deal with all the things that come with that avenue.
