Will do! He’s a HAM and GMRS guy so he’s way more into it than I am, I’m not smart when it comes to all the internal workings of these radios. I guess it’s an antenna he bought and tuned it to GMRS…added a spring and pivot elbow. So these GMRS antennas get trimmed to tune. As far as a firestick, it may be able to be tuned to the GMRS ranges, not sure…would be interesting to find out. I love the firestick brand from my CB days

I’ll research some more and find out if I can use the Firestik with GMRS. Is the antenna you’re currently using the one that comes with the radio? I ordered mine directly from Midland, otherwise it would’ve already been here. Love the fact that Midland radios are still made in Kansas City and Firestik is still made in Arizona. Come to think of it, the Rago Fabrication antenna mount is made in the USA also. They’re a veteran owned small business.

Yep! I ordered it from Midland directly also. It’s the little antenna that looks like a wire sticking up. Shocked at how well it works.

Nice! Is it tunable? Did you run the cable down the c-pillar?

Well, that was ridiculously easy. .

I got a cheapo pocketed bed net off ebay a while ago to store the things I carry everywhere. A couple tarps and my bag with tug strap, soft shackles tire repair kit tie downs bungee straps jump starter and a few tools. I climbed into the bed armed with carbiners, zip ties and those stick on screw thingys that come with these nets.

Turns out the net's loops fit perfectly around my tonneau cover fasteners and support arms! I wish everything went that well!

The factory one I don’t believe is tunable rather comes from Midland probably in the middle of the ranges of the radio for best overall results…just my thoughts no proof of that. I ran the antenna cable down the side of my prinsu rack then to the back window, under the truck to the drivers seat area and come up through a rubber grommet there. I have the radio mounted above the phone charger pad I don’t use. So the cable routes under the center console. Not hard routing but just hard enough I don’t wanna do it here in Washington state when it’s raining, I’ll wait until nicer spring weather arrives haha

Replaced the 2032 power pack in my Apple-AirTag.

Added to my trail-recovery kit. Now where did I leave those annoying hitchhikers?

$300 Badlands Offroad. Big tires for mud usage, high lifting. But maneuvers like a pig in tight spaces because of the large wheels. If I had more than a 1-car-garage at an apartment complex I might have bought one.

Now I am in a 2-car garage house ... maybe I can rotate the tires of my truck now. Just need to be ready to buy one when a Harbor Freight store actually has it ...
