I'm really starting to like the Robertson drive.

Can stick a screw on the bit and it stays there.

20240218_211839.jpg 20240218_211926.jpg Stop me if I am going into too much detail.
I made 16 plugs for this build. Most people think tapering the plug helps with installation, but not really. I can pound in a non tapered plug just as easy. You taper it so there is a place for glue to go and bond with the wood! Why glue them if it is an interference fit you might ask? Because the plug is a different wood than the tables. They will expand and contract at different rates. I tried using plugs without glue...once. Every winter I had to pound them back in. I figured it out after the 3rd winter... anyway, here is a tapered plug and one installed. I will go back tomorrow and flush cut to a 32nd high.and sand smooth.

Oh, I'm not trying to teach woodworking here. I am just highlighting some of the things we do when doing a build. Is it sexy? No. Is it fast paced? No. Is it fun??? Not really. I do it for a hobby and a sense of accomplishment. And, it keeps me out of jail. Plus, I get to create stuff that I can say "I did that." @RustyGreen did the same when installing his HVAC. @six5crèéd does it when he makes something unique. That's why I do it, to enjoy creating something.

Same reason I post my zero turn lawn mower builds. I'd post them here, but I use his thread 2.0 to post them.

Lol I am making a sand-able wood filler. Mix the same sawdust as the wood you are working with with glue and you have a stain-able wood filler. Works every tim but you gotta mix it stiff, like thicker than play doh!

    Late as usual Happy Birthday!

I am still adjusting to that concept. Around to many females I would hear " Please Don`t remind me"

You don`t use JIS screw drivers? They really work on well japanese built equipment.
