Random factoid this morning. Lemmy from Motorhead started out in a band Hawkwind. Originally auditioned for guitar player, but wound up as the bass player. Occasionally did vocals, as heard on this song.

 

I just watched a special on the Rainbow room in California yesterday . Also the Whiskey aGOGo . Rainbow room has a statue of Lemmy since he was pretty much a permanent fixture there . Think it was on Netflix

Happy President's Day to those that work and have the day off.

 

Fuck holidays observed by schools and not by private sector! Had to burn a holiday cause the kids outta school!

 

The last two companies I worked for gave us MLK Day in January as a company holiday, but then took away President's Day. That really pisses me off. I have nothing against MLK Day as a national holiday, but that's only been a thing for a couple years. President's Day has been a national holiday for close to 100 years. And when I was growing up, we actually had 2 holidays: Washington's birthday, AND Lincoln's birthdays, each as a separate holiday, both in February. Then maybe 30-40 years ago, they combined those two into just the one - President's Day.

 

We have MLK day as a paid holiday (also Juneteenth )....but not Easter.

 

Don't get me started on that "Juneteenth" thing

The other national holiday that most employers seem to ignore is Veteran's Day. In my 30+ year working life, the one and only employer I had that observed Veteran's Day was a Bank. But banks take every other day as a holiday.....

 

Those side pockets don’t come with it and console cover?
