    It feels like a Friday.

    2006. Had an inline five-cylinder (L52 Vortec 3500) with 220 hp and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) of torque.
It definitely had issues. Poor acceleration. Horrible weight distribution (even with 4 sandbags in the back) and poor choice of all-weather tires.
It was a leased company vehicle. I called it my little death trap. This was not its only wipeout.

Whatever fits your narrative and makes you happy.

Sure, many people can technically afford a $9 slice of pizza or a $60K mid-size pickup truck, but the key question is whether it's worth it to them. Value is subjective and encompasses factors like quality, functionality, brand reputation, and personal preferences.

That's why threads like this seem desperate on a Tacoma forum.

This truck had an automatic transmission and a disconcerting tendency to downshift with enough force to cause loss of traction on wet, snow and ice covered surfaces.
I was in 4x4 high, slowing down without touching the brakes, and the truck downshifted and I spun out of control.
After this happened twice, I learned my lesson, (drove much slower!) and picked a manual gear when driving in similar conditions.
    Your own experiences may vary!

Looks aren't everything, here is a post from Colorado forum.

My turbo in my 2023 ZR2 went at 3000km’s. Took 2 months to get me a new one. They did not say or do anything about the fuel injector thing. This is the first time I’ve heard of this recall or issue. I get terrible mileage as well and the start stop is very annoying. I turn it off everytime I get in the truck.
My ZR2 also has a ton of squeaks and rattles and the connectivity to my phone is terrible. Also the wireless charging pad is pretty pathetic.
My fender flairs also don’t fit properly. So far lots of gremlins in my truck.

I am so glad it's cool to post about other vehicles other than Taco . . . I wasn't sure that was OK
here is my CR-Z. It's handles much better than the Taco and can get up to 32mpg (it's a hybrid)

Given that context, that is a better value than all trucks.

Awesome truck. I'm still mad they removed the 2.8 duramax from the mid size trucks

Repeating the same things over again doesn’t explain you’re point.

Anecdotal, same as here. all the paint failure threads in 3G, timing cover leaks, etc. Maybe they are very isolated and it's blown out of proportion due to all the asshats on the internet?
