Not sure of exactly how that's setup as far as detach mag, but if so with collapsible stock (from what it seems) would deem that "featured" no? (Only saying this to make sure you don't get screwed over... Not that I care about how things are setup)

Stupid CA gun laws... Living here in CA as a person who's been in the firearms world for sport for 3 decades it's absolutely absurd what is going on. BUT HEY let's put a non citizen of the US from China in charge of elections in SF..... /Rant

    Swing for the fence...

All jokes aside, very glad you purchased this AR. I have defended my home with one in the past few years.

There are other ways to modify your AR to make it California Compliant other than the fin. I did with mine.

The stock is actually fixed. I have a featureless which is fixed stock and hand fin with no additional “evil” features, but I get to keep my mag release. I supposedly can use 30 round mags if I had already owned them.

if it’s fixed magazine. Then you have to break the action for the mag release to work. The trade off is you can get the pistol grip, collapsible stock and 2 “evil” features but can never use mags over 10 rounds.

if its a fixed mag you can run any feature you want. (not legal advice ) obviously no grenade launchers as those are destructive devices

I would read up on the high capacity magazines (even prior ownership) When I lived in CA, one could buy whatever. Yeah...it's been a minute ('97).

stadard capacity mags are good to go in CA as long as they were aquired within the parameters that make them legal.

straight form SD county ccw page. Notice they do NOT outright say "magazines larger than 10 rounds are illegal in the state of CA"

"Can a CCW licensee carry an approved firearm with more than ten rounds in the magazine if that high capacity magazine is legal?

The CCW license does not define magazine capacity, just the firearm. If the magazine and firearm are legal to possess in the state of California, and the firearm is listed on the license, a CCW permit holder may carry. (Note: California firearms laws are subject to change. It is the responsibility of the CCW permit holder to ensure the firearm & magazine are in compliance with California law at the time of carry.)"

Interesting so they pinned the adjuster lever or made it to where you had to use tools to adjust.

I hate those fin grip things, Love my sparrow dynamics grip, way more ergonomic and keeps it in the letter of the law featureless grip (JT featureless is a big grey area), Only thing I did to really help with the sparrow dynamics grip is round off the edges on the end plate and buffer tube rib where your hand might make contact.

Edit - looking now i see the pin for the stock. (circled in red). Circled in green was where i rounded off the edges with the use of the sparrow grip.

So I went with a Daniel Defense Omega Rail 7.0. It was a little bit of cash, but the rigidity and the fact that it not only bolts together but also bolts onto the barrel nut were my deciding factors. Buy once, cry once.

You can get rid of the fin with the proper and legal modifications to make it California Compliant. I did with my AR (San Diego)

I see there are a couple of options just can't decide on the style I like more. Never had them in hand before to get an idea.

yeah if you want a full pistol grip youd have to do a break open/not detachable mag. Sparrow dynamics grip would net you a grip you can actually wrap your hand around.

That's part of the learning curve that comes with gun ownership. Visit a couple of gun shops that have a gunsmith on hand and ask questions.

Yes, I have to break open my gun each time I want to change out the magazine. Mine is a detachable magazine. (Delton California Sport .223/.556)
In retrospect, I should have just left the AR in its original operating condition and just registered it as an assault rifle. I understand there are a number
of AR owners that just didn't do either.
