Hello all I followed the procedure online for adding another key to my 2023 Tacoma Limited. Everything seems to work and once completed. I am able to start the vehicle with both smart keys but I am not able to lock/unlock from the original fob or the new one.

Had anyone come across this? Just looking for some guidance. Thank you!

Can you lock unlock with the touch points on the door handle? If yes then maybe you need fresh batteries in fob? Or try a re-set by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes then re-connecting.

There are two processes. One for the RFID part and one for the fob functions.

There are videos around here somewhere. Try looking in the @MESO FlipFob thread. Same info for key'ed or PTS Tacos.

Thanks for the answers... I can unlock the door by using the physical key, get in and start it. Touching the handle stopped working on both keys after I added the spare key. Both fresh batteries.

Sorry I am a bit of a newbie here.. I found threads for that key but it looks like a key you just move the insides over to. I haven't been able to find instructions on the RFID versus Fob.

Look later in that those threads. There were quite a few of us who used those as a third key. There were two YT vids that covered both programming aspects.

Thank you both for your guidance. That second video is what helped me getting the 2 keys working with starting the car and unlock/lock with the fob.

The first video was a bit confusing as I dont have a physical key fob like in the video, but I do have the valet key in my smart key fob.

Either way... I tried to program it all again and everything is working!
