    I have had 2. A 1986 750, and this 1991 750 which I just sold last fall. Nothing like that V4 sound!

Except for the massive skid mark on the muffler. Who knows what damage is under that cobbled together fairing.

I sold my BMW hardcases on ADVRider and it went smoothly, but just that nagging in the back of my mind that like, I'm not protected in this transaction at all, I think that was $650? The idea of having an escrow in the middle is appealing. But yeah, other forum sales do make it very easy to creep on post history, make sure they seem like a reasonable person, etc compared to the sketchy randomness of FB Marketplace hell. Same with Tacomaworld, bought and sold a handful of times here and haven't felt that weird about it, but you never know.

I love the 91 VFR. Long ago I was going back and forth between a 1990 CBR1000F and a 1991 VFR. In the end I bought the CBR. Very happy with it and kept it until I got a 2006 (2nd Gen) FJR.

I still scan Craigslist for VFR 750s and for CB700s (Nighthawk S, the bike had before the CBR). Either would be a nice classic to have in the garage next to my current 2017 Triumph.

The Sargent seat I just sold on a FJR forum was the first and only time to date that concerned me. I posted quite a few pics from all angles, linked the same seat on Revzilla to show the price of a new one, said straight out that it had come with the bike I'd just purchased, and priced it at less than half of a new one shipped. Been a forum member there over 10 years and have a decent post count. Buyer asked for even more pics then questioned my legitimacy though he had only joined less than 6 months prior and under 50 posts. Took almost 2 weeks to seal the deal. Meanwhile another member I've met in person was willing to go full price no questions asked. Being honorable I told them I felt obliged to humor the first potential buyer. It finally went through, sent tracking info, and he commented it hadn't moved after only 2 hours. I messaged him, tactfully as I could, and suggested he lighten the F up. I also linked a previous thread from the Iron Butt Rally in 2019 when I had given my FJR to a rider I'd never met to finish the rally. Suggested if he had concerns it's easy enough on a forum to search a user and learn pretty quick what their reputation is like.

You're faaar more patient than I. Anytime someone starts to get a little sideways I triple the price for them only. It's not worth the hassle imo

I've had decent luck with Facebook marketplace, even more luck with OfferUp but I think it really depends what you're selling. most of what I've sold is motorcycle parts and watches. def have some time wasters that you have to sift through though.

I always overprice things through those mediums though, as most people will rarely ever offer your asking. So that gives me room to come down close to the price I actually wanted to sell at while the buyer feels like they got a deal.

I look at it like this, we all had a learning curve. I saw he had a relatively low number of posts so I figured he might be new to forums and forum protocols so I tried to cut him some slack. $325 isn't a huge amount of money but I still wouldn't want to just lose it so I get him asking questions. It did start to bug me after a second person expressed interest and I feared losing out on a sale.

As much as I would like to collect the whole set, these things take up a lot of garage space. I'd be curious about the obviously mismatched bodywork and even in the pics I can spot some missing fasteners. 54k miles is honestly nothing on these bikes provided they've had regular maintenance done on them so that wouldn't be a fear at all. First gen model like this I can't tell from the pics if it has ABS or not. Early models that was optional. The first gen bikes also threw off a lot more engine heat but that was mostly the lack of a heat shield under the fuel tank. Easy enough to do something about. Would make a good candidate for a wrap or custom paint.

I'm :jellydance: right now. It's snowing right now and the high for today is going to be 37° at 3 PM. 32° when I got to work today, dropped to 25° currently, and will be 33° at 6 PM when I get off work.

23 degrees this morning on my ride in. Heated gear is the shizzle! Should be close to 50 when I leave later today.
