nice . Not going to be doing any off roading for while since my Clutch took a dump on Monday on the grapevine. One thing is it pay to play that is for sure.

 

you're clutch died while driving on the road??

Either you're pushing 600+ hp down there or you need to change the way you drive

 

Nah I have the manual trans and it sucks, mine died before the warranty was up and toyota denied me once they they put my truck on the lift and they saw all the scars underneath and on the skid.

You gotta be easy on the clutch especially going up and down steep hills, use your breaks instead they are cheaper to replace.

BTW what kind of clutch did you go with ? I was checking out the ones on the URD site, when this one goes out I will probably put in one of those and change the flywheel as well

 

i put the regular toyota clutch in it. I heard with aftermarket you got to watch because their sometimes more problems than it worth. The reason why i fried it because being on 35's and on stock gears doesn't help. Plus i have been stuck in the sand and mud alot and that burns out the clutch with no bottom gears. I have driven a Ford ranger stick with 123k on it, since i start driving and it still going on it first clutch. Just been hard on it when i go off roading. SO in the near future is 4.56 gears .

I believe I was around 32 or 33,000 miles.. I gotta admit though for being stock and all I was pushing that thing to the limits. It burned out after I went wheeling the day before on a steep ass trail in Los Padres forest.

So what did you hear bad about the aftermarket clutches ?

 

i guess little problems with rattling at stuff. but maybe i am wrong.

 

See getting stuck in this kinda stuff with stock gear and 35's didn't help either my clutch.
