This is like a daily thing on the FB pages for these trucks. Trust me I wanted to love it, buy it.... I test drove it. I'm likely going to buy a 4R and keep it forever.

You were test driving trucks but are going to settle for a SUV?

As easy as reading is, it seems your real strength is insecurity and impressing it upon others. Believe it or not, not everyone is such a fanboy that they can't objectively discuss other vehicles without an over-the-top defensive animosity. I am sure your doing you're very best, though.

It's also is very cool the way you demonstrate (with bravado, mind you) a middle-school level of writing skills while attacking what was clearly an instance autocorrect.

You’re so focused on me, that you had a mental lapse on the actual user who attacked another users autocorrect.

I always wanted one of those. The CRZ looks great and was a unique extension of the Honda line at the time.
(Certainly less dowdy than the Insight! :angrygirl:)

I am holding out for a Honda Prelude EV or less likely a Toyota MR2 EV!
(Hey Toyota! Where are those solid state batteries you keep saying are two years away -- since 2017?)

Agree that value is subjective and relative. Relative to income/circumstances etc. I bought a new 2024 Tacoma off road for 58k after owning a 2023 Off Road I bought used for for around 38K about 6 months ago. Gave the 2023 to my son and traded his 2019 SR5 in for this one. Paid 30k out of pocket for my new truck and for me it was worth it 100%. The new Tacoma is better in everyway, to me!. To those who say the 3rd gen was without issues such as gear hunting and frequent shifting have a different experience than me. My new Taco has everything I would want except the bed mat, all weather mats (came with carpeted mats) and the bed step. Almost universally when an older Taco pulls up next to me they get my attention and give a thumbs up!

The new truck is better in almost every measurable metric, TO ME! It was worth it to me, but may not be to you. I don't care what any of you drive, I care what I drive. I am cool with whatever your choice is. I don't think the truck is expensive at all especially compared to some other cars I have owned and currently own. Some of y'alls snide comments sound petty, and when you get called on it you get defensive. I am happy for anyone who gets a new truck or keeps their current truck.

To the OP, I put my deposit down on January 23 and my sales found my truck and I picked it up February 16. Not sure how long it was for you, but the Taco's are shipping in mass now! Now I am heading over to Tacoma 4G forum where the most popular threads are not people complaining.

You had another mental lapse. You're confusing comprehension and grammar. Now try investigating a bit more on the actual user that attacked another users grammar.

Agreed. This forum is also littered with people looking to internet strangers to justify a decision. The interesting part of the 4th gen forum is that there is a lot of hate for the 4th gen even from Tacoma fans. But also if you went with something other than a Tacoma you won't get a lot of love for that from a Tacoma forum. You're fucked either way.

On a positive note now I can give up watching Days of Our Lives for my daily drama. I can just read the 4th gen forum instead :)

I am not willing to pay 4th gen prices, but I would also rather drive a 3rd gen Tacoma than a new GMC, Chevy, or Ford. Just sayin.....

It seems as though whenever a truck/car gets a new refresh or complete update, the previous Gen owners have to find a way to hate it, or nit pick it to death. The Tacoma happens to be the most popular mid size truck and generates hate just for that reason alone.
Is the 4th gen better than previous gens? In most aspects as far as tech , fuel economy, suspension, yes it is, and it better be.
Each new gen provides new tech, new look, new layout, and some fans take awhile to accept or get used to new and different things on their favorite brand.

This is nothing new for GM. I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised. They’ve been shit for decades. They are the reason Toyota exists.

That sucks. I really like the GM trucks, but they are making it hard. Toyota has got it's own issues, but I'd bet good money a stop sale won't be one of them.

Clearly value means something different to everyone.

Some people are looking to get thumbs up and nods from other people. The instagram post justifies their life for the next 24 months. Paying more just makes them feel more like a pimp.

Some feel that paying top dollar for a 4 cylinder wannabe truck feels a bit foolish.

Some have their daddys pay their bills and dropping $50k doesnt mean anything to them.

Some have familys and college funds and whatever bills they have to pay and $50k for a grocery getter would be a waste of money.

When I bought my 2016 Sport I was sure it would have a blown engine by 10K miles from all the comments from 2nd Gen owners lol..Now the 3rd Gen is THE one to get lol...
