    Eh, I disagree even more.
This won't be great. I'm pretty sure it'll be good... but It won't be memorable in twenty or thirty years.

Every one of my Land Cruisers, past and present, have been the pinnacle of what Mr T has offered on these shores. The new land cruiser is not.
It's the kid brother to the 300 over at the Lexus store. Which is embarrassing. The 80 had the LX450. The 100, the LX470. The 200, the LX570. They were all equals, more or less.
Now the lc is a junior model? A glorified Prado, equating to the GX?

C'mon now. They coulda resurrected the "FJ Cruiser" brand out of respect for the top dog. Or called it a Prado. Or an "LC Sport."

I've owned these trucks for over two decades. And I've been invested in TM stock for a long time, as well.
This land cruiser light might sell a ton of units. And bring big bucks to the bottom line, but they're stepping on a grave with this name. Same goes for that silly "supra."

    $0.02

So it just the badging irks you? Because glancing at specs it looks pretty darn good. Boxed frame, linked rear, gobs of torque, nice open squared off body.

Felt the FJ Cruiser was an embarrassment. Never did like that thing, especially when they had Johnathan Ward over at TLC had his input of what he thought it should be, and they basically ignored him.

The Land Cruiser name should be top dog. And it cannot, because the LX600 (300 Series) exists.

I guess the next argument would be whether a "light duty" 250 land cruiser would still be "light duty" if the 300 never existed. But that's getting off the track a bit. And moot since it does exist. lol

I really didn't like the FJ Cruiser when it was in production either, yet I came very close to acquiring a delivery mile 6 speed TT a few years after their run ended and values were still pretty low. Just to put into storage. They've had a great run up since then. But I think that's just because the market for Land Cruisers went totally bonkers.

For the sake of Toyota and the buyers of the 250, I hope it enjoys much success. But I won't be calling it a Land Cruiser. :)

Kinda like Chevy fans upset over the new Blazer is a car. All they need to do is buy a Tahoe and slap a Blazer badge on it. ;)

Same can be done for the US 250. :)

I guess with the LC 250 what we're seeing isn't really happening. I censored the pic for the sensitive viewers

    Lol!

Don’t care what it is called, there have been so many different incarnations of the Land Cruiser from the beginning, this is just another.

Styling and specs look great. Price is a little hard swallow, but do get a heck of a lot features for that.

I think the price is the big draw for LC wannabe owners. Let's say $60k for the power and off-road capabilities is a no brainer. Those that don't have the $90k for the 200/300 (Lexus) can finally get an LC. The riff raff buy a 4g Tacoma :p

fun fact; 3rd gen 4runners/surfs have the same dna as the prado 90. just a different body.

im not sure why toyota released the gx and releasing lc250+6th gen 4runner at the same time. is the 6th gen 4runner going to be a super dumbed down prado even tho its basically been the prado? im so confused

Seems like a bargain compared to the LC 200, and the LX 600.

Shoot…the riff raff dirt bags like myself will have to settle for a GM or Ford product…. :p

Toyota likes to be redundant, I don’t get it either. Look at their CUVs, 3 or 4 of them are just different versions of the same thing.

Since I have owned a ‘85 4Runner, would love to see them go back to its roots with a removable roof, have that platform as the Wrangler/Bronco fighter. Make it super utilitarian while they are at too.

It was, bought it when I was 19, the vehicle that got me into Toyotas.

would be cool if they did a nod to the past.
