Hmmmm..... bit of a mash-up. I would say a Off-Road, but like you point out, comes back as a Sport on Carfax. However maybe they didn't like the $coop and swapped for the off road wheels at the same time?

I saw this sweet 2016 DCLB SR5 in the parking lot of a gym and stopped to take pictures. The owner, a woman who looked to be in her 20s, happened to come out as I was driving away; I turned around and we got to talking about Tacomas. Her dad bought this truck at some sort of wholesale auction, with minor front end damage. It has a clean title, and seemed to be superficial damage based on how she described it. Her dad fixed the damage, added the mods you see, and had the engine tuned up. The truck presently has about 96K miles and runs great! The woman and her family are not TW members, but after our conversation, I have a feeling they might be... ;)

I loved everything about this truck, until I saw that it was a 2.7L/auto; I spent about a week with a 2023 SR 2.7L/auto as a loaner last month while my truck was getting fixed, and it was SLOW...

    :ballchain:

After a week of driving that truck, I would never buy one. If somebody gave me a new Tacoma no strings attached, even if it was a 2.7L/auto, I would take it. However, I would not want to pay for a 2.7L/auto 3rd Gen! This truck has less than 800 miles, which leads me to believe that someone bought it and was unimpressed with the performance...

It's a shame there wasnt many 2.7 manuals. The 2nd gen 2.7 5 speeds were a hoot to drive.

We never saw many 4x4 2.7s in my region. Most were 4x2 2.7 and just awful to drive. They were 100% fleet trucks.

I welcome the end of 3rd gen.

    I'd own one.
But I want a different truck on backup, that can tow and haul more.

That 2.7 paired with the AT is a slug for sure, couldn't imagine how bad it would feel with a load in the bed or pulling a utility trailer.

They will probably get close to it. I was at my dealer today doing my 10k service, they are so few and far between someone will probably fork it out. New, they start at 78k.

$78K for a Capstone, or is that the base price for a 2WD SR5 with no options? My dad's 2018 GMC Yukon SLT can do everything that Sequoia can do, plus it's got two more cylinders and it's paid off!

yeah, it’s overpriced. I believe that is starting MSRP on 2WD.

My dad's Yukon has 4WD and a positraction rear end; MSRP was $66K new, but I worked for the dealer at the time. He bought it used with like 8,200 miles for $53K!

Honestly, the Yukon Denali is the same basically. This would be the direct comparison to the Capstone. the Denali Ultimate starts at 97k

The Yukon Denali is a barely cheaper Escalade...

Better off spending that $92k on a used Ford Excursion, repairs, and a gas station to keep it fueled up
