I just recently bought what I believe is a 2014 Toyota Hilux. There are no identifying labels anywhere on the truck that I can find. Not even a tire pressure sticker on the drivers side door jam. A good friend is a manager on a horse farm that has Toyota Tacoma fleets and has for the past 20 plus years. He says my Hilux is different in how it handles and accelerates, etc. but we still don't know for sure it is a Hilux. Any suggestions as to how to prove this? It is my understanding from the dealer, not a Toyota dealer, that it is a 4.0 L V6 gas engine, 4x4, double cab short bed. I love the truck. Thanks, Toxman

Do you have a picture of the truck and country of origin?

Check the VIN’s details using the Toyota owners online tool.

A 2014 Hilux? Here's a quick test - look under the headlights. Are there two little trim pieces between the bottom of the headlight and the front bumper?

If yes, you just bought a Tacoma.

Hiluxes have very different bodywork than Tacos. Here's the front end of a 2014 Hilux:

Well, they don’t look the same, so this should be fairly easy to figure out as long as you have at least one eyeball

Nope, sorry. Looks like you bought a 2004 Honda Accord. Close though, I can see how you'd get them mixed up.

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 1000... what is it?

When I get a flat tire, my truck handles and accelerates differently.

    Friday's come early.

In all seriousness, a 4.0 V6 Gas ("PETROL") version of the mid 2010's Hilux wasn't the norm, but an option. Is OP an actual Aussie or Kiwi? Using "gas" is throwing me...

I always preferred my girlfriends to be "Low Lux". They were cheaper on dates and the sex was always good (at least interesting)

77 square miles surrounded by reality.

Tires, Softopper, fully armored, winch, many pinstripes.
It's only a Hilux if there's a bed mounted machine gun.
