Gen 2 access cab is clearly the best Tacoma ever made. It doesn’t have 4 doors like the sissy trucks. A manly man’s 6 foot bed to be used for work and work and overtime. The 4 liter puts every other Toyota truck to shame and the 5 speed in the pinnacle of autotragic transmission evolution.

I really do think that the 2nd gen was peak Tacoma when following along with the truck's evolution, even to this day. But most never expected the 3rd gen to be such a fucking turd. I didn't even get the chance to drive/use a 2nd gen until after I already bought my 3rd gen.

I have a first gen in the family so… I’m well versed in turds. Once a turd always a turd including all the way to the faux-gen

I traded in my 2015 SR5 manual with a rear locker with only 20k miles on it, for a 2017 TRD Pro. Didn't even realize how much of a great truck it would have been, being the last year of 2nd Gen. Hardly ever see them now. Still miss it

Aww damn. That would be an amazing truck to have. I bet your Pro has served you well though.

It was great, it had the TRD Pro (2nd gen) black alloy wheels, KO1s (yes 1s not KO2s), the TRD PRO plug and play black grill. This is the 2nd Gen TRD Pro parts, which if anyone here remembers was a pretty hot commodity, as it was extremely limited production, also 2015 model year. The wheels is what the Pro 4Runners still have to this day, as the 3rd gen Pro tacos had more glossy design.
It had a ToyTech 3in Lift, and l was lucky enough to live close to Raleigh, NC where at the time a shop fabricated and could install a bearing in the front diff that to replace an OEM bearing, which would go bad when these trucks were lifted. I've heard it was still an issue with lifted 3rd gen Tacos. It was a great little truck.

The 17 Pro was amazing, I was always infatuated with the way it looked, it was leather interior, great tech package. I actually kept the TRD wheels from my 15. I traded it in for a Raptor, so it was a perfect progression.

I'm sure the 24 Pro will be even better, especially with more power, but the prices are infuriating.

Hey pal watch your step. You need to keep your uplifting and positive comments to yourself. This is the internet so there is no place for that kind of talk.

Seriously though, I have a Gen 2 and just bought a Tundra instead of the Gen4. Just couldn't warm up to the looks. I think the Gen 3 looks the best out of all years. I'm sure it will be a fine truck and wish folks well with them.

Toyota is currently starting to hold trucks at the port for QC issues... Let's not throw shade at GM when Toyota is having issues as well.

There were also a bunch of 3rd gen trucks held last year for "QC" issues as well.
Toyota is falling in line with the rent of them lol.

But will GM halt sales or just let em roll? The meaning of Toyota is to halt when there are issues (on the assembly line at least).

my 2017 has had literally zero issues. Only maintenance is oil changes and required schedule fluids. And I plow with it and beat it up.
