Oh I've managed to get an incredible 29.2 on a TANK with my '19. I did it once just to see how far I could push it. I was drafting, dropping in neutral on downslopes, etc. Fun experiment, but not practical.

I'm betting I could easily top 30 in this new truck. As you noted though, driving style obviously matters and isn't always practical, especially when a 10 mile stretch of my commute is a 70 MPH zone.

 

Haha! Yeah definitely not practical. Impressive though!

I’ve never gotten more than 24.5 MPGs but I wasn’t trying that hard, just kept it under 65.

Super curious to see real world driving MPGs with 4G.

 

Actually, it has a really nifty option I haven't seen (well in a manual function). There is a handle on the left hand side that will raise and lower the seat whichever way you push it, i.e. continually pulling up raises the seat. I've seen this electronically on other cars, but never a manual one. It feels a bit cheap, but it works well. I think I currently have it in the middle. It was late last night when I found it and I'll verify in a bit when I head home, but I would say it has about a 2 inch range on it. I do feel when the seat is all the way down, I lose some road visibility in front of me, which I don't like. I'm just at 6'0, so not tall enough when it's lowered.

Overall, I feel like the seating comfort is better, especially since I can adjust the seat height. The lumbar support seems to protrude much more when fully extended and I had to dial that down a bit (that is electric) because it was digging into my lower back. It's a much more "industrial" interior with harder edges and I do feel more locked in while driving, but in a good way.

 

Here is a shot of my girl and the seat elevator. It moves at more of an angle than up and down. It’s 22 pumps from bottom to top and at the top it smashes my legs into the steering.
I could raise the wheel, but I think it’s too high and I lose the optimal angle at viewing the dash.

 

Pumps ? No power seat at that price ……

Would any of the 3 of your 4G guys be so kind as to measure the length of the wiper arms (from the driven end to where the wiper mounts)? A previous photo shows they have a jog in them at the business end, which may bump it up just enough to get it in to the defrosted area; would potentially be a nice upgrade for the cold weather 3G guys if they're the same or really really close...

yea… like I said, at 50K sticker (4K markup), that doesn’t sit well. At least I have the option, but yeeesh.

 

To be fair, my ‘19 TRD Off-road 4x4 package had the same mats. They got considerable use both on and off-road and held up really well over 5 years. This included shit tons of spilled drinks, two 80 pound labradors, fish guts, deer guts, duck guts, two teenage boys, towing a boat and 4 wheeler, chasing hurricanes and much more. I can’t complain at all. I beat the hell out of that truck and knocked off 125K miles in 5 years. That truck did me right.

That said, I may look into a weathertech solution this go around to be able to clean a little easier. Getting dirt and small pebbles out of the mats and carpet was a bitch.

 

Man I’ve got the husky floor mats (same idea as weather tech) and absolutely love them.

 

I don't have a problem with the carpet floor mats themselves, just the $339 that Toyota charges for them.

 

Hm yeah interesting. My truck came with carpet and rubber floor mats.

I’ve used the rubber ones for like 6 months and it was a bit annoying. Got the husky ones and they are so much nicer. It overlaps onto the door sill so all the dirt doesn’t get in the carpet.

For the most part I really don’t care if my truck is clean outside, but inside I try to keep as clean as possible.

Toyota really ratcheted up the margins on the 4th gen. Predators are another example. 3rd gen, $649. 4th gen, $949.

I'd love to see the prices for 2nd gens.

 

Ok, I think I know what you are talking about. I was getting torn up by mosquitoes, so here is what I could take for now. It’s 4 1/2 inches from the motor to the wiper butt, maybe an inch and a quarter of a “hump”, but it is nowhere close to being in the defrost area, sorry
