It was kind of dated when it rolled out. I swear the backup camera was the same shitty on that is on my 2015 pathfinder.

I came really close to buying one but then Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa came through and got me my SR. The back up camera is totally shit on my Tacoma as well.

Just a heads up, but I am pretty sure I read that the 4th gen has a wider turning radius than the Frontier now.

    Is it though?

3.8 DI engine? That’s my biggest gripe with it. Well and that they made it look like a Tacoma.

Apparently back up camera resolution is worse in 2020+ Tacomas than 2016-2018.

I honestly have no issues, it’s pretty clear unless it’s snowing or raining.

I guess, it’s got the v6 still. But I really hate the idea of DI only.

I read on a Nissan forum that the intake cleaning was like $120 only. I hate DI only too though.

I had 2008 and 2016 frontiers…both driven to about 75k (both totaled) and zero repairs needed in either. Just brakes. Drove like cars not trucks. Super comfy seats. Terrible turning radius not sure if they fixed that. Bought a 23 Tacoma because I’d always wanted one. It drives more like a truck than my old frontiers. Probably would’ve looked at and maybe bought another frontier but wanted a manual. I would drive them both and see which one fits

The Frontier is a nice driving truck. The weird thing is that they have not yet returned to the days of STEEP discounts. I would expect $3-5K discounts at this point, but I'm not seeing that.

I mean why buy a Nissan if you can’t have 0% APR and $5000 off MSRP?

Exactly. There was a long period where the Frontier SV was cheaper than a comparable V-6 Tacoma by a lot. They were a good value when they had $5K off MSRP.

Have to respectfully disagree that the Frontier has been reliable. I had a 2006 and ditched because of the strawberry milkshake issue with the trans cooler cross contamination in the radiator. Took Nissan forever to correct the issue. Yes, they did extend the warranty but they still had issues in the 2010s. The turning radius was complete shit and worse than a full size truck.

I like the looks of the new Frontier but after owning a couple of Nissans, I can say they fall short of my old Harbody that I had. Build quality is not the same.

That was a huge eye-opener for me, going from Toyotas to a 2022 Frontier. Aftermarket is non-existent.

Otherwise I've been really happy with my choice.

I was very interested in the Frontier until I read all the complaints about the heavy steering. I don't know why they did that. I keep reading Frontier owners say "it's because it has hydraulic steering". I guess they haven't been driving for long because the fact that it's hydraulic does not make it inherently heavy. It's all a mater of fluid metering. Hydraulic and for that matter electric steering can be adjusted as light or heavy as the manufacturer wants to make it. I remember driving my Grandparents Chrysler land yachts in the early 1970s. Hydraulic steering of course and you could turn the wheel with a feather. My current Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Challenger has electric and in the settings you can set it for comfort, normal or sport feel. Personally I like to have a comfortable relaxing drive, not having to arm wrestle the steering wheel because some folks think that's what a truck is supposed to feel like. So I passed on the Nissan.

Have you driven one? I had a 2022 for a bit and the steering was fine. You could hardly tell the difference, and it wasn't a big deal at all. I mean I wasn't getting arm pump after an hour in the seat.
