Ugh, you 3G guys are impossible! That is the going rate for new generation floor mats. You can’t just compare them to the 2023 price, they are not the same, and trying to compare them is just futile. Besides, accounting for about 10% inflation over the last couple years, they’re almost the same price.

$4k markup for a base trd off-road and non hybrid? No offense, but why did you let them do that to you? Did you need a new Tacoma right now?

Yikes, thanks for braving the skeeters!

So am I seeing this correctly and there is a curve at the driven end of the driver’s wiper? This may not work after all.

The 3G wiper arms have no offset but rest about where they do on the 4G relative to the defrost area it would look. Putting 4G on the 3G, I was hoping they would shift up an inch or so and get them up where the defroster has some hope of keeping the blades from icing up.

Is it the same steps? For a thousand dollars you can get real rock sliders, the Predators look good but very low quality metal. I had them on my 2nd gen, don't remember the exact price but it was between $500-600.

Mostly true, but they work well for my Asian wife and little boy to get in and out of my truck, especially when it was lifted more.

I absolutely would not off road with them lol.

From the 06 sales brochure. No predators. We were still in the tube step days and it felt like options were truly optional.

Yes, my lease was up (as of 6 days ago). I either had to buy my old one, then sink around 3K into it (tires, brakes, moderate body work) and resell, hoping I could make a profit or get a new one since they would forgive the 65K miles I was over on the lease. The mile charge along was over $9K, I was out of time and was fortunately in a place financially that I could deal with it. It certainly wasn't ideal, but I made my bed and was aware of it.

I'll admit, this wasn't my best moment, but I'm ok with the decision and working with what I have. Also, it was at least a 6 month wait for the hybrid.

As with most everyone, there is a lot of backstory to this, my situation, why I leased, etc. Ultimately, it is what it is.

For now, let's just focus on the truck, how I can help you all learn more about it and move forward with the discussion on this 4G. I'm happy to help anyone else make a more informed decision based on my current and past experiences with a 3G and a 4G :)

Yep, like I said, my situation changed mid-lease and it crushed my miles. Again, not my finest moment, but hey, it's done. Anyone have any other questions?

I'm currently looking into upgrading my sound system. In my '19 I was able to fit two tens behind the passenger rear seat. Decent, tight response, but I want a little more oomph this time. I also upgraded all of the stock speakers with Alpine and I grabbed all of that and the two amps to see if I could use it in this one. The space is a little different, so I'll probably have to make some changes. As much as I'm in my truck commuting and take it out for entertainment, I like to enjoy my sounds.

You didn't get defrosters for the side rear view mirrors (Toyota calls them defoggers)? The owners manual (pages 444 - 445) doesn't call this out as an "if equipped" feature so I thought they were standard.

Yes. How much did you pay in lease end penalties? Just the 9k mileage hit?

I understand life changes. I'm not judging you, I just found 65k OVER the lease to be hilarious.

This is one of the only reasonable explanations for purchasing a $50k Tacoma when crewmax 4x4 Tundras can be had for the same amount of money.

I’m already seeing local dealers discounting new 2024 Tacoma’s $2500 off MSRP
so the mass produced Tacoma’s will be loaded up on dealer lots soon and no more price gouging from some greedy dealers.
