If I was a betting man, which I am not, I would bet that most investment firms have very mature algorithms for consuming market data, analyzing it, and making decisions or at least informing decision makers. They may not call it AI, but that's what it is. It's not Generative AI using Large Language Models which is all the hype today, but AI all the same, and not a new thing. It's pretty obvious that the general population is at the peak of inflated expectations on the whole AI front. Me, I am at the depths of the trough of disillusionment.

Yup! AI is just self learning, which is what most algos do anyway. They take in all data and crunch it and weigh the time it was received as a factor for what to do. They'll look for patterns and connections across industries and etc.

My brother in law does this for a living, writing the algos used for investments.
