Hi all, I'm looking at buying a 2008 Tacoma with 64k miles on it. It spent most of its time in western New York and I'm wondering what you all think about the levels of rust on the vehicle. Is this a normal amount/is it worth moving forward with a purchase or will it be a headache to deal with? Thank you in advance for the help.

Not only is it rusty, it looks like they tried to hide it with paint. Unless it’s 1k or under I’d run away.

Someone has put lipstick on that pig.

Don't give it a second look.

Unless you have a clean frame at home and the ability to install it. Even then, it'd better be an awesome price.

I've seen underwater shipwrecks that were less rusty.

Has it had the frame replacement recall done on it. If so then hell no. Fluid Film won't save that.

    No.
Mine is the same year with more miles and does not have that rust.

it was salted. NY uses salt.
Heard WA successfully used non corrosive sand. Maybe they could do that. But they don’t.

looks like more is rusted than the frame.

    4 run, 2 don't
Why would this truck even be a consideration?

That is so much rust that it looks like the rust is rusting.

I bought an 08 at 200k that spent winters in Colorado and Wyoming. Never had that much rust, even at that mileage. Avoid that truck like the plague!

Have you seen the movie "Money Pit"? That house was a better buy than the truck in those pictures.

I like that it’s rusted to shit and instead of just painting over all of the rust they started and then gave up.

There are parts of the country that don’t have rust, buy a truck from there.

The cover up attempt makes it seem sooooo much worse. They trying to pull one over on someone knowing that the truck is about to snap in half?
