I couldn't tell you...lol. Bought the bike from a friend pretty beat up to turn into a track machine and it's been in the shop since about...Late November? Haven't even ridden it yet. Beyond excited to get it back and break it in now that it's been pretty much rebuilt from the ground up. I may ask my buddy for some reimbursement considering what a mechanical and electrical nightmare it's been lol. But we'll see what the final bill is like.

Oh yeah, definitely don't need to book it up now. I just bought a 5 day pass a while back and figured I'd get my dates locked in now so I can plan around them and also commit. Yeah I don't think i'd take on chuckwalla anytime in summer, even June 22-23 at SOW I was iffy on but figured it can't be too bad...right....right??

yeah $180 for a track day + demo bike here and there isn't bad at all. Hell I'll already be pretty close since one of the track weekends is Oct 19-20...might just chain it on and take a day off work lol

I know what you mean about focusing on one thing...my dirtbike has been sorely neglected lately. I keep telling myself I'm gonna take it out, then it storms and I go snowboarding instead lol. Or it's a beautiful day and I ride canyons.

Wish I had some spare motorcycle money laying around, this would be a cool bike to fix up

Back in 85 I bought my first street bike. The 85 ninja 600r and my best friend bought a 1986 nighthawk with the blue and black tank. Being 18 at the time to me the nighthawk was just ok. We were into sport bikes with full fairings (Top Gun ninja 900) at the time and thought the nighthawk was lame. Anyway obviously we were wrong. I would love to take one for a ride now.

Yeah it's been a journey. Kinda glad I just handed it over to my shop at this point lol. The only things that aren't new are the frame, fairings, engine, wheels, and mirrors lol.

Whoever he let use the bike before giving it to me should never be allowed to ride or even own a motorcycle again.

Yeah 225 is very old and outdated looking, though a tail tidy and a modern front fender and she looks good IMO, but again im biased lol

Is she looking for street use on the dirtbike? If not there are some great non street legal options in the similar air cooled smaller dirtbike realm that are going to be lighter, even more simpler and likely cheaper.

haha it sounds like it! hopefully it was cheap..
agreed id have to show her one to see if she would like it lol but again that is up to her since it will be her money for her bike so all i can say is heeey we can make this one neat lol

and yes she wants some streetability like how i want with my 2 stroke bike so i can go from trail to trail and not worry about if im on the road for a little bit with legality reasons.

yeah he'd sold it to me for $1700 lol. but that was under the premise it was mostly good.

i'm prepared to eat any costs, but I might see if he's willing to reimburse some. No hard feelings if not cuz $1700 was still a steal.

Took all three bikes out today. Weather was too nice not too. Started on the monkey then Klx and last the R3. Each one is very different which makes it fun to ride all three back to back. Got home and just for the heck I checked mileage of each bike. The R3 and Monkey are only 1 mile off! 2734 and 2733 the Klx only has 198.

    +1

Normally I'm not a yellow fan on anything but there are a few Yamahas with the old school color liveries like pictured that look good. Just the right amount of yellow.

That r3 is one of em for sure!

Loaded up and ready for the shop tomorrow. Gots to get the State inspection done, and having them do the first $$ service as well.

Don’t knock my hauling setup. It has worked for me many a time. Though it will get changed up soon with a proper wheel chock.

The 50th anniversary R1 with ohlins and forged marchesini wheels is one of my all time favorites

The Super Tenere in that paint scheme is nice as well. I kept wishing they would do that with the FJR1300 but I probably would have sold a kidney to get one. I've seen a couple either repainted or wrapped and they do look good. Of course gold wheels always look classy.

Yup. Right now there is one on cycletrader and if it hadn't obviously been wrecked I'd be super tempted. The wreck damage makes me worry about what may be hidden though, and I'm a shit mechanic.
