    All,

Last week I purchased a 2021 Tacoma sr5 4x4. Truck has 75k miles, a little more than I wanted initially but after driving it, popping the hood and checking out the underside, it looked like it was in a lot better shape than other trucks I looked at with less miles.

This is my first Tacoma, I wanted to buy a stock truck with 4wd, which is what I thought I had. However, after casually observing other trucks I feel like my front end has been leveled. See pictures.

There is no traditional leveling spacer under the top hat and the shocks are the stock hitachis from what I can tell.

It does have 245 Toyo AT's but they are also standard stock size.

Additionally, has a little bit of a rough shift and shutters slightly around 40 MPH. I have researched and this seems to be a semi common problem. Just going to have shop flush ATF next service to see if that helps. Any thoughts?

Also, seems to be a small knocking sound in the front suspension when I slowly turn over a bump. Any thoughts on that? I know the suspension has some miles on it but 75K still seems too new to need new shocks, arms, etc.

Overall seems to be a solid truck and I am excited to own. Just trying to make sure I didn't buy a dogged out truck the dealer put a bow on.

Of course non of these issues were apparent during the test drive.

    Thanks.

No lift...looks like a stock SR5 to me. With that mileage, I would just get a trans service done. Most likely torque converter shutter...hopefully the service will fix that. As for the noise, most of these have a little thump when turning. You can check the bushings on the LCA, UCA and body mount under the radiator core support to make sure they aren't cracked but I've learned to just live with it.

Awesome I appreciate it. Here is a side shot. Again everything looks stock, just doesn't seem to have much of a rake compared to others I see out and about.

Here is a pic of my 2021 SR5 4x4 the night I purchased it (new). Hopefully this helps. Yours looks close-ish stock ride height to me. Each truck will be a little different. If the previous owner of yours carried any weight in the bed on a regular basis, the rear leaf springs could just be a little worn and that’s causing it to look more level.
