"Rest in Peace" Shame to see this on any vehicle, but especially so on a vehicle known to go 200,000 miles or more with reasonable care.

It's not what you see that matters when they look like this: it 's what you don't, can't, and never will see.

Welcome to TacomaWorld and glad you stopped by for input.

Where's it from? My 2010 doesn't look anything like that and I'm in the rust belt, but I took preventative measures.

Level of rust is considered normal for upstate New York, where vehicles are ready for the crusher after about 10 years of service if no rustproofing was done (imagine 2014 Tacomas going to the crusher en masse). The rust on this particular vehicle will be a headache to deal with.

If I lived in the rust belt where this was common I'd probably opt for a Fly n drive or look for one with the frame replaced. Purchase the vehicle from an area where rust isn't as common or severe. It's more expensive up front but it will definately be easier and cheaper in the long run. You can find dry Tacomas,

    '06 with the original frame.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:
    Good decision.

As a general rule never buy a vehicle that has a nice fresh (rubberized) undercoating job.
They do that for hiding not protection.
