I think it probably HAS to be worth it, given that they continue to go along this path. The increase in R2 efficiencies and then the increase in thrust from the R3s should negate the extra mass.

I’m sure that’s the idea but they still have to prove R3’s can be reliable at the higher chamber pressure. It works on paper and up until now as a single use strategy but it’s definitely contrary to their philosophy. Until they finish iterating I don’t think they can afford to decide which ideas end up being worth it. A ship and booster pair have to both be landed and the whole examined to know if it fits with the overriding necessity of reuse or if further design changes need to be made. They want to have it but I wouldn’t go so far as to say they have to have it.

It may be cheesy and dumb, but I don't care. It might be my only chance...

SH FTS charges delivered and bunkered. I’m guessing they stay in there until after S28 SF and they roll B10 back out for restack(assuming SF goes to plan) and WDR. That might be awhile if more work on the tank farm gets done as a result of the 2 previous tests and delivery of more components. Then back to the high bay & mega bay for FTS install. Then back out for finall stack and prelaunch.
As long as it passes the mustache line.

Do they really go back to the production site for FTS install? I thought that was done with Insane-o Lifts at the Launch site?

Also, I do believe it passes the mustache line.

With only 2 examples to go on I couldn’t say for sure. Could be a matter of convenience if they roll back for some other purpose and do the FTS install as well. They may do it in either location. Weather may decide that issue. I think Elon mentioned 3 weeks and that may be accurate or just the earliest possibility. It would at least allow for a full cure of the triangular roof. But before they do anything with the charges they have to SF S28 and complete verification of the ground systems and a WDR. I’m just guessing (no surprise there) but maybe they had no intention of completing a WDR previously but were just testing the repairs to the OLM and QD’s knowing they were going to add more tanks and vaporizers that hadn’t arrived yet. With possible road closures today and tomorrow I hope they can get the ship SF done at least and get that hardware installed without having to start/stop again.

    I agree.

While, it might make sense to put the FTS in at the production site, why store it at the launch site if you're not going to install it there?

I also don't think we'll see a closure today. Are you watching the NSF raptorside today at 1pm CST?

Picture or didn't happen. They cut the broadcast relatively quick even though they claimed they had backup procedures to power cycle the radios. Instead of hanging about, they claimed success and ended the broadcast.

It's like school kids these days, they get a trophy for just showing up. Show us a pic/live broadcast from the surface and then I'll cheer!
