If you have the 8.4, I have a 5.29 built diff I’d sell you….37’s would work well on 5.29 if you have the automatic. Setup by the best Toyota diff wizard and using Revolution gears and OEM for everything else.

Regardless of what you think you stuck up front, now that you know the simple test, I'd verify before making any move.

I've got 33s, 5.29s, and go 90+ on the highway frequently. go with the 5.29s or you'll regret it eventually

What’s your rpm look like and is yours a second or 3rd gen because wouldn’t the trans gearing be different between the 2

5.29s on 2nd gen with 37’s would be like 2500 rpm at 70. That isn’t bad at all. That’s still less than a stock manual.

Heyyy don’t hate on it, it was level this past Saturday until I put the ball joint spacers and added more to my strut I have 3 inch blocks in now with some kind of lifted leaf springs debating if I should buy 5 inch blocks or get new lifted leaf springs and put the 4 inch block I have in my building in with them.

You don’t really need to check the ratio

Put it in 4wd, shift to neutral, and push. If you can push it on flat ground without more effort than in 2wd, you have matching ratios

What’s weird is I asked yall how to check the gear ratio on the rear after I knew how because when I tried it that way it didn’t work I had to do it like it was an open diff and spin the tire 10 times and count how many times the driveshaft spun multiply it by 2 and move the decimal point over one and it came out to 3.73 when I tried the other way it would spin barely over 2 turns yet I have an lsd so idk why it didn’t work that way?

Also I’m planning on changing them pretty soon I’m just gonna keep it out of 4x4 until then

With the rear-end on stands spin one of the tires. If the opposite side spins the same direction you have a lsd rear, if they spin opposite you have an open diff.

Edit: Looks like toyota phased out the mechanical LSD in 08/09. You may have a brake simulated LSD aka ATRAC or Auto LSD. So still an open diff. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe only sport models came with this? And based off photos OP does not have a sport

You would be correct it isn’t a sport it’s a base and it has auto lsd I’ve tested it plenty of time always hit the button when playing it mud or sliding around doing donuts in the road and it only spins one if I don’t hit it but that would make since it’s brake operated because it wouldn’t kick in if the trucks off and the tires were spinning in opposite directions when jacked up so it confused me a lot lol

IMG_3200.jpgUnless on paper they have the wrong gear ratio it’s definitely a 4.10 up front

There's a bunch cut off there, does it show the VIN it came from?

Yours definitely came with a 3.73, both your axle code and VIN show that.

For those asking about the "C" in this case, it does not mean a physical LSD. 2008 was the last year LSD was available.

I cut off some names and prices but no, vin was not listed and yes they proved me wrong earlier this truck definitely came with 3.73’s but I had replaced the front diff and that’s the one I put in and it very well could be 3.73 they just have it listed wrong on paper but I reckon I’ll check the front tomorrow to be sure
