Actor Peter Fonda was born today in 1940 (d 2019).
In the 60's he established a reputation as "a professional dropout" in counterculture roles like Easy Rider (1969).



Also worthy of note (to the road movie aficionado ) is Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974).
In the helicopter on the left is a reputedly terrified Vic Morrow with pilot extraordinaire James Gavin on the right at the controls.
This movie featured a helicopter used like never before in a movie - all real naturally, special effects generated with computers by guys with man buns weren't invented yet.
Nor were man buns...



It wouldn't be fair to not mention the rest of the principals, 24 year old British cutie Susan George in her denim top and kind hearted Adam Roarke .



We will round out my recommended Fonda road trip trilogy with Race With the Devil (1975) with frequent co-star Warren Oates.
This movie covers all the movie night popcorn bases - vehicle action, suspense, lots of bad guys, a Remington 870, snakes, women screaming and good ol' R.G. Armstrong as usual playing the sheriff.



The coach used (and beat the crap out of) in the film is a brand new 1975 Vogue 32' Villa Grande, $36,000 back then about $206,000 today.

Same friend. He new I collected Hot Wheels and offered it a price I couldn’t refuse. They make reproduction ones but are half the size and not porcelain.

 

Porcelain signs are the bees knees. I've got a Miller High Life porcelain sign that you'd have to pry out of my cold dead hands to get away from me.

Sounds like we have a potential contract in place, to be voted on next Thursday. My first time through this and nobody that negotiated it will say how it looks, to avoid the game of telephone. We hear the details Thursday and go immediately vote.

We have a saying out here at the space center- somebody asks their lead, can I run and get breakfast or to the bank on center..
Lead says "You can do anything you want on your last day"...then we all just proceed and do it anyways

Saw this today.

Both directions.

 

For way too long I’ve been dragging out my gas weed eater with a blower attachment to blow off the porches and garage. It’s heavy, loud, makes me smell like 2-cycle gas. I decided to fix that today


why did I wait so long! Lightweight, plenty of power, no gas smell. Still loud but not as loud as the other one.

 

Last week a squirrel got in the garage, it took 2 afternoons of leaving the overhead door open for it to decide to leave.

When I wasn't here however:



That industrious little did some serious work here. This leads to an addition where they cut the block wall so it is probably mortar rather than concrete but still it really went to town.
