speaking of cum dragon... (not really, just wanted to say it again).

Had the interview today for promotion, pretty sure I nailed it, and just run the risk of someone being a better applicant than me.

I also had someone interview for an opening on my team, and I got them to decide they weren't ready after my "let me talk you out of it" spiel.

Soooo it's not a bad day.

 

I have my interview tomorrow for that promotion. I am going to do so much better than you! Suck it

 

Well that was a solid day of work. I think its time for me to go "work" from home with my bourbon.

Well I am married so thats the only action I get. And she reminds me every day to go f*ck myself

Shafer, mid Feb '24, trip with the fam. It's way funner going to National Parks with your adult children than with child children (even if they have limited the purchase of truck parts). So much fun picking out restaurants (98 Center for the Pho and Bahn Mi win) having a beer and planning details with them.

Definitely take some glamor shots, enjoy the time. I get stuck in my head of "I can't leave, too much to do!". Do it. Even if your friends and bad influences compare you to Homer Simpson and add gifs that encourage you to do irresponsible things (I'm still resisting tho-)

 

Plan on plenty of glamor shots! I've already got a rough idea of what I'm gonna do but I'm leaving some of it up to spur of the moment.

On the way up I'm gonna meander and stop at the cinders, then stop at Moenkopi for the night. Next day gonna detour thru Monument valley on the way to Moab, then Moab for 2 days, back down to Moenkopi, then last day juke over to the grand canyon before coming home.
Got some local insights on places to eat and 3 trails I wanna hit, and then also, just gonna fucking kick back too.

No kids to worry about tho. I did recruit the housemate to be my drone operator.

I realize I lucked out and got the honeymoon "hump like bunnies" phase of engagement without any of the actual commitment and get to keep all my mod and gun money.

 

You have family in Tuba City?
After Kayenta, then north into Monument Valley (Before Monument at the circle, there's Gouldings Lodge to the left. If you can, I'd stay there instead of Tuba. I heard the restaurant is decent. But the deli in the gas station, has some bomb ass Red and Green fried burritos) and Mexican hat. Should take the Moki Dugway if you've never, north to 95. You'll pop up at Natural bridges, can check that out. Then its a nice drive from there to Blanding. Some very nice views and places to stop.
Or do this route on way back.

 

If you have extra time, from Monticello, take the 101 west into the mountains, then follow it down into the 136 into the 211 and go to newspaper rock. And other sights along and around there.
But thats a decent off the ways loop. Well worth it IMO
