Forgot to mention but I do have the archive garage hangers. Mine is not stiff at all, not close to “riding on clouds” but smooth enough. Which leads me to believe that maybe I have too much weight on the rear since people say adding weight to rear makes it softer.
I was on road trip driving on I25 along Colorado Springs that’s when I experienced the truck bouncing a lot, it felt like the rear tires were way out of balance. Maybe some of you are familiar with this highway so that’s why I mentioned it.

trucks can vary based on weight but to me, you’ll be closer to 1” with OEM truck, those springs and thread showing.

Any tips to mount this? Seems like the rear shocks are ext but they’re not based on the part numbers.

Lift the truck with a floor jack until the rear axle begins to hang or lift the rear axle with a floor jack. :notsure:

no I just lowered it but it’s good now both are installed and ready. Coming off 5100s the rod was a couple inches shorter didn’t have this problem.

Part number and shock design has changed a bit. Long story short, there is no -EXT option anymore. The one and only length King offers matches what the -EXT shock lengths were.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Looks like different lower shock mount and a little more travel for the one on the right?

Thats correct. King only has one length rear shock now for Tacomas, which is only good for 0-1.5" lift. We worked with King on a new design and came up with a solution that allows 1" more travel than their standard shock. This is an AccuTune specific part number, not available from other retailers.

Yes, they are listed as 1.5" - 3.0" Lift rear Tacoma shocks.

Slightly incorrect, I think… What about the 3.0 IPS rears with adjustable resis? Those are good for 2” lift with N98 springs. I would know, that setup is on my Tacoma.

Are these just the "old" Tundra length shocks with a new hose/reservoir layout?

They are not. The "old" Tundra shocks are no longer being made, which prompted this shock design.

So what are the differences? Looks like an aluminum top of the shock vs steel in the previous version.
