I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Probably because I'm going backwards I have a 2003 Tacoma with the 01-04 oem fender flares and want to go to the 96-00 smaller flares. Anyone know if they will sit right in? From my research, the 96-00 flares don't have the square holes, but I am ok with double-sided tape or whatever as long as it stays on. Thanks!

I believe this has come up before and the trim more than the year determines the fender flare type. Might want to clarify with pics

The '98-00 flares will "fit" on the later model years, but they won't cover the square holes in the '01-04 fender. You'll either end up having to find some sort of plugs to fill those (and there won't be a smooth surface), or you'll have holes "above" the perimeter of the older flares.

Here's a pic of the "square" clips/holes. The '98-00 flares only cover the flat part of the fender immediately around the opening.
