Anybody take delivery of the 2024 Tacoma yet ?

Ok, trying to buy a 2024 Tacoma Sport with specific options, color etc. It seems that Toyota makes it difficult for a discriminating customer? I have contacted 45 dealers in my state and about 20 more dealers in the surrounding 6 states near mine. Most replied. One advised they have my truck coming in soon. This was the end of January. They expected to have the truck by 2/23/24. They advised I would need to post a deposit which I did. A few days later they advised the truck now had a QC hold and gave a new ETA of 3-15 to 4-6-24. I asked for the vin# and they told me they didn"t have a vin. The next day I tried again to get the vin from them and they advised the truck is no longer "showing" in their inventory and they would not have a further update for 30 days?? They were going to try to get another one in their allocation changed to the color I want. Does this sound normal?

 

Is the new game to pump up the price with over priced accessories and then offer a discount so it seems like you are getting a deal?

 

With the supply so short pretty much. I think you can find a lot of similar stories over the last three years since the COVID supply chain issues. Toyota has a very controlled, data driven allocation and distribution system. From what they say, a lot of swapping between dealers after allocations. Until trucks start hitting lots en mass your going to have a good chance to hear fairy tales and promises. Hang in there if you can.

 

Use the allocation list to try to find what you are looking for and then contact that dealer directly if it is what you are looking for.

Anyone out of state have success buying from one of the below dealers?
Went to a couple in TX and they laughed when I told them about prices below MSRP out of state.

Edit: Just called Elgin, those trucks dont exist. They're offering reservations for these TRD OR trucks 2-3 months in advance.

 

Does the discount exist is the question. You can already tell the status by what I posted.

 

I missed that, sorry dude! I am on the call back list for the finance manager to talk to me about out-of-state pricing. The local dealership wanted $9k over MSRP on the 2wd Sport they had.
They almost bragged about the $125k TRD Pro Tundra they had for sale.

 

I would try Fred Haas Toyota World highway 45 in Houston. They seriously have the most trucks than any dealer. Their current online Tacoma inventory only shows 20. I’m sure they’re getting them daily.

However they got over 300 Tundras online inventory and they’re parking lot is full of them when I drive by. TFL got their Tacoma from them.

They claim to be the highest volume Tundra dealer in the country and their website info states no mark ups

 

No worries....did not mean to bark at you. Just really curious that pricing and if they will honor it for out of state. Would rather drive back from there than PA.

Good luck with that. I am hoping when I am ready to buy in June/july that a lot more dealers are dealing.

I just messaged them about a truck they're willing to sell to out of state customers but not sure if they'll hold up the sale price.

 

I've been posting every chance I get. I didn't realize they were still so rare, so trying to help out where I can. I'm going to hit a couple of audio shops this weekend to see what my options are.

 

I wanted a hybrid bad, but my dealer says it's a minimum 6 months out and my lease was up. I'm hearing 28-30 on the MPG, but it's all guessing at this point.

My wife went from a Rav 4 (30ish MPG) to a Hybrid Highlander and gets around 46-48 MPG now. She does do a lot of city driving, which fits a hybrid, but with such a bigger curb weight that is amazing MPG.

If I could get 30 mpg in my truck, I'd just be a pig in shit
