The Smokin' Joe livery was also a good one, but Yamaha wore it in MotoGP much later.

Super nice day out today. In the low 50s. I got dressed and helmet on then had a strange feeling I shouldn’t ride today. I have only had that happen a handful of times but I always listen. Not sure where it comes from and obviously will never know if anything would or wouldn’t happen.

Anyone else ever get that premonition?

Yup. I've had those same promptings and I try to always listen.

I've cancelled riding plans because I didn't feel like I was in the right head space. Not necessarily out of any sense of anxiety.

Yep. Always trust your gut. There's always another day. I will say it is SUPER nice today. If my bike wasn't getting suspension work I might have been tempted to go for a rip

Happens for sure, sometimes fully dressed and backing out of the garage, it hits, I take a moment, then push the bike back in. Still alive.

Got this offered on trade a 2004crf250r no title... My question is where is the vin located on these? I know some bikes it's on the right side of the neck but unsure of this one? Also would an r be a good trail bike or more of a pain since it's for more racing

Honestly, I wouldn't take a bike without a title. Way too much risk of it being stolen.

    agreed

and even if it isn't stolen, just the hassle of trying to acquire a replacement title, or ever getting rid of it in the future would make it not worth the effort.

Though I guess if it's normal in your area, reselling wouldn't be that hard.

so again out here its normal i know it sounds odd but most will not register or do anything with dirtbikes or atvs to get out of paying yearly taxes on them.... so to me its not something tbh scary since it can be done to get a new one or just dont and its a dirt only type of toy.

Lol I guess its the California in me coming out. lack of paperwork screams danger to me. but if it's par for the course in your area...

only reason I wouldn't take a race bike for trail is the throttle will be snappier, but you've already been riding dirt a while, so once you're used to it it shouldn't be an issue. Gearing will be shorter too so depends what kinda trails you're riding.

yaaaa its an odd thing out here but it is a normal thing. so it doesnt really worry me plus you can get a new title it can sometimes be as easy as send paperwork in and wait a month and boom new title or its a month or two process and is a pain lol so its a 50/50

ya thats what i was wondering ive heard of people making them into trail bikes so i was wondering. i also wonder how much shorter for a x model which i think is the trail bike? im use to the drz on trails so no idea how different it would be.

Yeah lost title out here is a certified letter to the last known registered owner, if you can get that information out of the DMV, which tehy're supposed to legally give but often won't, then state patrol inspection, which they haven't been doing since COVID, then you apply again, pay some kind of fee, and have a bonded title for 3 years. if no one claims it in the 3 years then its yours and you're good.

It's an absolute pain in the ass. I'm glad I got through the Vermont loophole before they closed it with my CT90.

Just a few accessories, mud flaps, bed cover , racks, seat covers, ….
I have a similar one 300 sm, wish they had a kick start, the battery on mine went bad , batteries are a bit pricy , hope I don't have to replace it every year, other than that, Great bikes though.

It's actually a bit easier now, I just did it last month. No more letter, get a form from dmv, get wsp inspection (that's the hard part), then wait the three years for title.
