You don't deserve a Tacoma or a real ride. Sell it or give it to someone who will appreciate it. Humm on.

I have a Tacoma, wife’s car is electric, we have bicycles, both conventional and electric, gas powered motorcycle. Love all of them, but I’m insane.

Highly recommend you change the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage.

    Based on what?

Lab work? You Tube? Someone said?

Just like to know where 'highly recommend' is rooted. 'Cause many on Yelp et al are worthless.

No need to stabilizer with E0 fuels. will last a year, with in residual effects. That is all I do with our snowmobiles. They sat in a barn for 18 months in Canada, due to covid restrictions... drained E0, put fresh E0, fired up 3rd pull. rode all winter in 22, no ill fuel issues. Ski

Stabilizer makes it so you don't have to drain it when you go to use it.

    Exactly.
Drain it?! What do you do with what you drained? This seems so bad in many ways.
Stabilizer is available for a reason and a little of it is more cost effective than wasting fuel and the environmental issues.

1 to 2 tanks a year?.... dude.... just empty the tank and store it and cover it up with blankets....
Then sell it for like a million dollars in 40 years...

You're doing more damage to the truck by letting it sit unused. Sell it or drive it.

Stabilizer isnt going to keep fuel usable in 2 strokes for 2 years.

I drained the close to 2 year old fuel (approx 10 gallons for 2 the snowmobiles), and put it in an automobile to burn. Better in the 4 stroke than a 2 stroke, and risk it. Nothing bad about draining fuel, siphoning it out into a fuel specific receptacle, and then dispose of by just putting it in something the grade of fuel isnt that critical.

You guys are reading into this too far. Ski

Being a closet prepper, I keep 30 gallons of gas treated with Stabil in storage at all times. I call it my "hurricane gas". Each fall after hurricane season is over, I put the gas in my vehicles and go buy another 30 gallons.

    PRI-G is a better stabilizer than Sta-Bil

It's not that big of a hassle really and it's actually saved us twice. One was when the Houston area refineries shut down due to a pending hurricane and the other was when the Colonial Pipeline company had a major disruption and killed gas supply to much of the southeast US for several days.

PS: my grown kids give me grief about doing this too. :)

I do the same as ski in my sled. It's not worth the risk on a 2 stroke.

Anecdotally the only times I've ever had to clean carbs on a sled is when stabil was used.

I don't drive my Z very often. Like a lot of folks here, I use Sta-Bil, have a Battery Tender attached, keep a moisture absorber in the cabin, and keep 2 ultrasonic rodent repellers in the engine bay. Also, I change the oil once a year regardless of mileage (average about 500 miles or so a year recently).
