You must be the only person on TW that likes the OG cheese greater :D

Yeah it’s a bit massive but it grew on me.

Think I am! Lol! I am a weird dude, and very particular about a couple few things.

Sure do like the SR/SR5 grill on the 4Gs. It is reminiscent of the 3G SR/SR5 grill is probably why. new generation is slowly growing on me. Hated the 3G when it first came out too, so there is that… :p :D

Yeah one of the first things that stood out was that huge ass grille. They tried a bit too hard haha.

And who thought it was a great idea to make the grille bezel chrome to make the front look even bigger…

Not the best pic but that’s the day I bought the truck, you can kind of see that ugly chrome bezel.

    IMG_5168.png

4G looks alright. I’ve seen it in person. Too many body lines.

Yeah the SR5 had the chrome bezel, not a fan. Speaking of packages, they bumped the SX to the SR5 for 22-23 iirc, no longer available on the SR, which I thought was lame. That SR/SX was a nice low budget upgrade to get flares and aluminum wheels for $850 I think it was. Putting it on the SR5 increased the price a couple grand.

    IMG_5428.jpg

Think the 4G is going to have time to marinate, typical Toyota they improve in some areas and go backwards in others. It has grown in size, always thought the 1st Gen Tundra was the perfect sized truck. Now the 4G is almost identical, makes the same power, plus gets better mpgs than the old 4.7 V8. Having time to mull it over, might not be too too bad. Couple odd body creases and angles, think I can get over it.

Dealers here haven’t gotten theirs in yet. My next service is in a few months they probably will.

:amen: Agreed. The first mod i did on my sport was trade hoods. I like to row, so the choice was super limited. The dealer inventory/allocation spreadsheet posted on here did all the dirty work for me, was a godsend!

It is truly amazing that through all of the design iteration that's done with these trucks, they couldn't have seen this as an added safety hazard. Looks be damned.

No issues driving when it’s sunny out. I do not use sunglasses, ever.

Scoop glare isn't an issue for me either. :notsure:

The shaded interior and not needing sunglasses much is a new experience for me. First thing I did when I got into any of my previous vehicles was put on sunglasses and I find driving my Tacoma I don't need them very often.

    Weirdo… lol!

Lived in AZ for 20 years, always wearing shades…even when it is overcast outside. Idaho is super sunny during the summer too, maybe even more so, basically stops raining by June and doesn’t pick back up until September if we are lucky.

Maybe I have sensitive eyes, I dunno :notsure:. I find that a good pair of sunglasses helps with situational awareness, reducing glare and aiding definition, So i wear them whenever I drive.

That scoop just gives the hood more surfaces to reflect during the golden hours, and reduces the bottom of my FOV while parking and navigating backcountry.

    Haha!

I used to wear sunglasses all the time, even when it was overcast. I couldn’t drive without them.

Im not gonna get into detail, but due to personal reasons I stoped wearing sunglasses few years ago and it was a great decision for me.

My wife doesn’t wear sunglasses either, then she’ll complain that “boy that Sun is bright!”. Bought her a nice pair of Smiths, she still won’t wear them. *shrug* ha!

On sunny mornings on my way to Dover AFB, DE...I will wear sunglasses due to the direction the sun rises vs my travel to the North Gate/Main Gate.

I've had maybe one instance where the sun reflected on the skewp but the glare was made evident because of the complaints I read on TW. lol

Seriously, the glare is there but nothing like described by some.

Exactly, why dual climate zones exist…

It does! Keep on telling people the 3G SR has a lot of options standard. But they don’t listen. Looks like they did away with the dual climate and soft open tailgate for ‘24. Went backwards on quite a few things on the 4G…while increasing price.

I’ve been happy with my 2017 Sport and the mods I’ve done have made it better. For me, it’s mostly a road machine. No regrets here. Lots of Tacoma options and other brands out there. If folks don’t like their Tacomas, they should sell them and get something they want. Their trade ins and sales will end right back on the road.
