I should clarify: Some Karen asked Pat if he was the owner of 'that scary truck'. He told her he owned a truck but didn't understand what would be scary about it. She said it had an axe mounted on the back!

Hey @Thatbassguy I need you to see how deep this ice hole is and if there's another one immediately on the other side of that ridge. :D

Nice! I was glad that spot along the steep bank was nice and wide. It definitely seemed like that area could be pretty interesting during the spring thaw. Or, in this case, the winter thaw.

Had to snap a gratuitous taco shot there.
Smack dab in the middle you'll see a rock formation downstream along the shoreline.
There's a not so noticeable foot path to get down there. (Sharp turn in trail).
Some fat smallies and walleye lurking.

Got a pic today of the anchor point for the front of my bed box. I just added a small return piece (securely fastened with 5 pocket hole screws on the other side) and cut out where the bed anchor is. Clipped on that spring hook thing and it's pretty snug, doesn't move much at all. Worked better than I had imagined it really.

Here's a better daytime shot of the setup so far.

Went out in the Barrens this morning for a ride. Windy and cold. Beautiful though-"visualize the images I didn't take here" Some asshat musta thought I would leave a full RotoPax on the truck while we were out. I didn't, so he thankfully let it there (notice I am gendering this...), but not on the mount right. Must make not to self to check those freekin things every time I am out of sight of the truck... I wish people would just mind their own business. Or, just fuck the hell off. This monkey business pisses me off. Thats twice in 6 months I have had someone mess with the truck while out on a ride. What the Fruck???

No joking, I'm really sorry that has happened to you twice now. I share in your anger, if it's not yours DON'T FUCKING TOUCH IT. Really wish our fellow brotheren were taught treat others how you would like to be treated. I'm sure the ass hats who messed with your stuff would be pretty upset if you did the same to them.

We are in off season from our Chicago/Minneapolis nausea, so these are locals. Oh well.

Ready for Arkansas... finally got the diff breather moved. Had it buried up in the top of the rear taillights on the bed. Those are pretty low on the flatbed, so... the new home is inside the gas filler "compartment" on top of the bed next to the cab. Measures at 51 1/2 inches from the ground. If I get in that deep there are bigger issues than the diff vent...

That sucks that people mess with things. Do you have the ability to lock them with your current mounting setup? If not, and if your brackets have enough room, might be worth drilling a hole for a small padlock. It won't keep the most determined criminals from taking them, but it will keep the casual jackasses from thinking twice.

At 51.5" I think my head/nose/mouth would be underwater so yea if it's that deep you'll have to rebuild your Taco as a submarine next go around!

I found this sand trail. (zoom in, bottom pic)
Drove down about 50yds and the walls were getting higher/narrower and the sand was getting softer/deeper. It curls around like a snake with no signs of a turnaround, so I hwhipped it in R and GTFO. :rofl:20240225_095108.jpg
