    1. Good point.
    2. The SFA probably would be easier to lift, and maybe cheaper?
    3. That makes sense.
    4. That'd be useful.

building something like that pic would be cool.

It's up to you what you want to do.

I like the Mopar 4.0 driveline and they are reliable and own 92 Wrangler 4.0 5spd.

I would still go with the Toyota just because of the other stuff like interior and power accessories that go bad in Mopars from time to time, maybe more so than Toyotas, still they aren't outlandish to repair and easy to upgrade. I think the big difference is going to be fuel mpg, Mopar love gas.... lots. I get 15 in the city 16 at best on stock tires and 2" lift.

You should get a Rubicon Cherokee

I get your logic somewhat but if you want a streetable vehicle there really is no point in getting a jeep. A solid axle is great for Offroad, onroad... Not so much and there really isn't going to be a positive mpg difference either. Don't forget you're still going to be driving a huge vehicle where ever you go (I thought you said something about city earlier, I'm too lazy to recheck). With all that said you can find a jeep that is somewhat reliable and I won't lie I expect to drive a jeep very similar to the one you posted above someday...it will most definitely not be a daily driver though. You could replace those struts on the tm lift with some vw struts, I think there's a write up somewhere.

No you replace the strut with a vw strut I believe, no need for a new uca. How much does the ifs part really matter? Where do you do most of your driving? Ifs isn't ideal for offroading, but it's enough for more than you may think.

I'd suggest riding around in some lifted sfa vehicles before making a final decision. It looks like you're pretty dead set on this so make sure you get a higher quality jeep with the best possible engine/t case/tranny set up you can find. Good luck with the hunt

Take a look in the vendor section of pirate4x4. You will find some pretty sweet trucks/jeeps whatever that may interest you.

When I first looked into thread my initial thoughts were "damn what a shame". But when you look at it I think this guy is being pretty reasonable. He bought the right truck with the wrong (and pretty much irreversible) lift. Mpgs and streetability may be in question for the new vehicle, but hell a sfa sounds good to me. there is no way a lifted truck is going to be a good commuter car, but to fix this lift situation the op could either toss a ton of money at it to make it lower and it would still be ifs whereas he could sell it and hopefully purchase a sfa vehicle that would serve his needs and wants better.

Just skipped a few pages but why not buy another tacoma 4 cyl and go from there or just get a Fj or 4 runner and lift it ( the right way) imo

From an old man that would love to go back to 16 like most of us. Listen to this and Listen good:

Girls really don't care about your truck and they will even care less in college. The ones that are with you for your vehicle, you don't want anyways. Just learn to talk to them. Make them laugh. Compliment them. Be Confident, Treat them with respect, and tell them your purpose. You can get Girls in High School or College (especially college!) with a Bicycle once you learn to just talk to them. Just talk to as many girls as possible. Networking! Those were the days....:D

That being said, keep your truck. get you a late 90's or early 2000's civic or corolla for commuting. I had a 1999 model of the jeep you are wanting and got about 16mpg city stock. I am sure that will fall to 12mpg with the small lift you want to do. Just my humble opinion. :)
