Looking at the simplicity of the new Land Cruiser in comparison to the overdone bits&badges on the Tacoma, you would think the two vehicles came from two different companies.

It doesn’t rattle when driving. Maybe if you have a passenger like that vid who wants to keep pushing it up.

They just designed it with a large clearance between where it is latched and where it contacts the rubber bumpers. I kinda doubt they’ll revise it

It’s a distributor option, $299 right below ToyoGuard for $699.

How do you know it doesn’t rattle while driving? Have you personally driven that person’s truck?

I thought it might come in the first aid kit along with some earplugs. :D

I wouldn’t buy a first year of any of these new models, including a Land Cruiser.

To each his own. (Not a catch all)But, that's what warranty is for. I bought the first year 3rd gen, 6MT DC Sport. I rarely keep a car for longer than 4 years.

My attitude is based on the 2017 Off-road I bought. That machine was very different from my 2021 and proof why waiting 18 months wasn’t long enough for Toyota to address issues in their beta test.

Or a simple latch adjustment maybe, let's all jump to conclusions and be pessimistic !

I’m waiting the market out, my trade has seemed to hit the low at $36k and it’s paid off I’ll wait till we start seeing discounts and full lots here summer/fall or jump to a tundra which I already have negotiated anywhere from $6-10k off.

    Right.
Albeit small and annoying issues, my ‘16 had me back and forth to the dealer so frequently that my wife was starting to wonder if I had someone on the side…By 2018, all clear. Sure the 2016 was “under warranty”, but that’s small consolation when I’m hanging out with service writers while drinking bad coffee.

In 2024, we have an all-new design supporting an all-new platform, the factory in Alabama assembling a new-to-them engine with entirely new parts spread throughout the entire supplier ecosystem. All in a truck that you’ll instantly feel you paid too much money for? Pass for now, but I support anyone who wants to be first in line.

Every new Tacoma has that exact same glovebox design, and I've driven two of them. I pushed it in to check that "play" on each.

Ok and how does that mean it’s not going to rattle?

I'm thinking that my next Toyota vehicle is going to be a "J" model. I don't want a bunch of crackheads building it.
