That's a nice lift and serves it's purpose for what you use it for. And at $160 and it doesn't seem any different than stock? Good investment.

Just don't ever have a rough bottom out up front. Can be a costly repair as the shock is now your bump stop not the actual bump stop

Could you just add an extended bumptop?

Probably but at the end of the day you might aswell slap some 5100's on won't be much more if at all. And you won't have the issue of potentially binding a cv as the overall length is to long. Generally not an issue on a street truck but you never know.

3" will kill your highway handling/ride, in every way especially gas mileage.

Myself I did the 2" Bilstein 5100 lift. Bigger better ride over the impressive (out of the box) oem Off Road shocks. Kept the oem coils as per Bilstein recommendations. Used a 1" block in the rear, as I seldom carry weight in the rear. Thankfully didn't need to replace UCAs. I also went with 33" Wildpeaks, giving more clearance under both pumpkins. That's all I can recommend.

any proof to back this up? that a 3inch will kill your highway handling/ride, in every way especially gas mileage? or is this your opinion? show me the proof?

At 3" you have virtually no downtravel it'll top out alot making it ride awful. As you lift you narrow up your track width that can feel awkward and adding more height increases center of gravity compounding that odd feeling. Fuel economy is debatable but really the more height you add the more wind turbulence you can get resulting in reduced economy. It'd the same principal as removing the chin spoiler the trucks come with.

I started at 3 and it was terrible but I did this to account for bumper/winch weight and spring settle. I'm around 2-2.5" these days but alot more wheel offset and no swaybar. I do t daily the truck though

Daily highway driving and off-roading are completely different things. I daily my OR. I wouldn't put a lift on it of any kind. I daily my OR. Why would I make the cost to drive it more than it needs to be? It can do the local trails and fire roads more than good enough. I really don't get the recent spat of half ton trucks on the highway with 6" lifts. They might think it looks cool. But to look cool don't other people have to look at you and wish they were you? I doubt even one person commuting on the highway wants to be the idiot commuting in a lifted truck. It makes no sense. If you want to off-road, seriously get a dedicated truck and a commuter car. If you can't afford both, that says everything you need to know.

I have a 23 TRD Pro and would probably go with something different since the Fox shocks are a very stiff ride and since you’d mostly highway you should probably go with a softer ride. Toyota set up the Pro for a rally set up which is not most people use hence the new Tacoma Overland version separate from the Pro.

It really comes down to what your goals are for the lift, is this all looks will the truck be wheeled much stuck to pavement with nothing beyond gravel roads? What is your tire size goal?
With lift comes additional wear to all ball joints/cv boots, other items to consider with a lift are replacing the front diff needle bearing with a bushing, diff drop, shims are carrier spacers to help correct the rear diff pinion angle.
If getting a more agressive look is the goal a more agressive wheel offset and one size upped tire goes a looong way with far less draw backs than a lift

my Tacoma is my daily driver on payment 99% of the time and wen I do some type of lift I am going to go with pizza cutters like 255/80/16 or 255/85/16 I just like the look of these trucks with a lil bit of a lift

1-2" will give you the best balance of look and factory like reliability. Go with a block in the rear 5100's all round the digressive valving will give a more supportive on road performance.

I would watch that series. It's currently on the big resi models but there is supposed to be another series on the 2.0 models coming
