I tried to get this one to run a couple weeks ago and it wouldn't run unless I gave it a sniff of ether. Would stay running after that, but wouldn't re-fire without the ether again. I even had non-ethanol gas in it, so it looks like a quick carb cleaning is gonna be required :annoyed:

I put mine back in the shed due to the amount of crap I got in the garage from the 1/2 bath addition I'm doing. Gonna be a nice fire with the scraps!

I wasn't too surprised. It's one of those Chinese Honda clone engines and the carbs are known to be iffy at best. Ironically the China Tecumseh clone carb I got on my snow blower fires up after sitting all summer as long as I keep non-ethanol in it.

Hopefully it won't be too dry this Spring/Summer. I'd like to avoid using the well for watering and just use the rain water cistern. I grew some stuff in pots in '22, but didn't do anything last year. Co-workers got most of the extra as I was over-run with cucumbers and tomato's

    Reserected from the dead.
Dump all that gas out. No matter what gas you run in it, the water in the tank is gonna be in the bottom of the tank.

Start fresh and keep it simple.

It ran fine when you used it last?

Yea it ran like a top last time it ran late summer. Had 90 octane ethanol free treated with Stabil Storage in it. Although if I recall correctly I got it from a place that just opened so now I'm wondering...

I have a front tine in my shop that is probably 60 years old; I start it about every 5 years or so...as long as the gas tank is completely full it will start on the third pull everytime. But it aint much fun to walk behind.:duh:

Oh, this rear tine is no fun at all. It's actually incredibly dangerous and will drag your butt behind it if you're not careful. I mean, any tiller is dangerous, but this Chinese/Taiwanese tiller is super sketchy

Just put the 1st coat of polyurethane on the tables! No pics because, 1st coat is always ugly. But it is going according to how it usually goes when it's going right. I always worry about runs, fisheyes, etc but none of that happened, which means now all I have to worry about is dirt! Good news is it is about 70 in the shop which is perfect for this. Too cold means it stays too tacky for a long time and too hot means it dries too fast to keep a wet edge.

After working in labs for 24+ years, metric makes more sense to me. mL to L, mg to g, volumes and weights on a small scale.

I sold a little junky rear engine rider today, the kid put it in the back of a very hard living Lincoln Navigator. o_O

He arrived with a very well nourished (think Big Macs, lots of them) girl riding shotgun, in the back a furry, rotund, red haired and bearded gnome dude about 5 feet tall and another fellow who compared to the rest was perfectly normal...

In the back he had a sub-woofer box about 36" wide by 24" square.
Well, they lifted it in, engine side to the sub-woofer leaving about 24" hanging over the bumper, he attached a ratty ratchet strap to the trailer hitch, looped it through the handle you use to pull the lift gate closed and used it (the lift gate) to hold the mower tight (ish) to the door opening.

They cheerfully rumbled off into the morning sun.
I would have taken a picture but it would have been just a bit too obvious.

Sounds like the guy who risked his life going to a meet up after his wife sold a blender for six bucks on Craigslist...

Snow day tomorrow! Work and school cancelled!

Wife and niece still have to go in so I'll still be out in it to drop them off. Even though they both work at the same place, they are on different shifts so I'll make the trip 4 times...
