There is a video somewhere of someone who did a sequoia front end on a tundra, looked great.

Exactly. Also why I don't believe any of these company spokespeople or engineers when they say these huge grilles are necessary for cooling. Weird how the same manufacturer can make 2 separate vehicles with the exact same engines and exact same cooling requirements look completely different.

If small grilles were in vogue, they would have small grilles.

Bahaha got banned from the other site for telling them they are a bunch of kool aid drinkers. After one of their Hyundai Sonata owners waiting on his truck said maybe the other site will take down their doomday party and said it was a little early to be doing a victory dance on QC issues for the new truck. What a joke.

That forum seems pretty lame anyways. A bunch of people worshipping a truck they’ve never even driven.

Right. I wasnt even inappropriate. Literally said well TW is the OG site and much more informative / better than the kool aid party over here. And simply said its too early to claim a victory dance on the QC of the new truck. Oh well, not missing out, just thought is was comical how they act over there.

Yep, half of them are new truck owners.

Window tint, paint protection, door edge guards, etc. The typical dealer bullshit they like to overcharge for.

You would be correct, but they told my girlfriend her free "PRESCRIPTION" was a year-long and then she had to pay.
She just bought a 2024 Corolla Cross

The remote start with the fob doesn't require a service, but remote starting via the app does due to the required cellular connection. With Apple Carplay/Android Auto nobody needs or will use the shitty Toyota Connect navigation.

I’ll see if I can find the guidance from Toyota themselves, but I’m fairly certain both stop working after a year unless you subscribe; which is a bit ridiculous as the fob needs no cellular connection.

Just get a manual then you don’t have to worry about remote start

Hmm, I plan on paying for the app anyway because remote starting when I'm not in range with the wireless fob is a worthwhile feature to have.

I remember seeing a graphic or something on Toyotas site while shopping for my wife’s RAV4, but I can’t seem to find it. Maybe they finally (mostly) cleared things up and you actually don’t need the subscription.

Closest I could find is this https://support.toyota.com/s/article/How-do-I-start-the-ve-7424?language=en_US which just says you need a “remote connect equipped vehicle”. Whether that means a vehicle that has the remote connect capability will have remote start with the fob regardless of subscription is not clear.

I should know with my wife’s RAV4 here in a few months, it turns a year old in May.

In one of the Tacoma videos I watched, the speed limit was displayed next to the speedometer. I know Apple/Android has that on the maps, but also convenient having it right next to your speed. Wouldn't pay extra for it though.

On my 2022 Tacoma and my last 2020 tundra, remote start definitely works after your subscription expires. My new tundra is still under trial subscription but I’m certain it’ll continue to work as well.

Remote start only works via key fob after subscription is expired on 3rd gen Tundra
