Kinda nice walking out the door at 7 am and it's light out. Days are getting longer. Starting to warm up and the trees are blooming already which is actually really early.

13 hours yesterday, I'm really tired this morning. Long days like this get harder as I get older. It's either too little or too much, one extreme or the other.

I concur about the long days getting harder lol. I’ll be 62 next week but I’d still like to work maybe another three years or so. Ain’t gonna work real hard though.

 

Well just blew an air back on the rental tractor. I was on the dock and it still was loud as fuk, lol. At penske getting it repaired.
My boss is so happy, lol.

 

Just don’t do that or a tire in my case while passing a state trooper. I pulled off at the next exit to examine the damage and decided that it wasn’t safe to continue. About 30 minutes later the trooper stopped to check on me. He told me that I scared the shit out of him and he almost shot the woman he had pulled over lol. Pretty cool guy though. I was there about three hours and he stopped to check on me a couple more times.

 

Now that's funny right there, lmao.
Only took about an hour to get repaired and back on the road.

 

Now back to the farm.

Halfway home last Thursday, I realized I hadn't turned in my fuel card. Went back today, the front door and gate to the yard are locked. When I got in, I commented: Wow, I guess you really don't want me back! Got a good chuckle.

Yesterday, an old friend offered me a job driving one of his plow trucks/salters. I told him that I couldn't possibly consider making any more money this year, not being full retirement age, I'm dangerously close to making too much this year. Maybe next winter...

 

Not exactly new news anymore but some jackass decided to off himself last Friday by running onto the freeway in front of a semi.

Poor driver. I couldn't imagine what he's going through.

 

Life ruined. Back a few years ago on my route Estes driver had a guy drive head on into his truck on a moped to kill himself. He never came back to work.

 

Last year there was a guy here that drove his pick up head on into a semi, he survived and stood in the street with a knife and forced the cops to shoot him. Suicide by cop. So the driver and the cop get to live with that.
